    Well done foxy :)

    As they said, be careful!!
I bought lots of new togs for hols last summer as i'd gone down two dress sizes on my top half, and one on the botton half, but as soon as i started eating french bread and jam at brekkie, my belly bloated and two days in, nothing would fit, i'd even got new size 14 pj's that weren't actually loose on me but were very comfy and i couldnt even fit into them as they were cotton and had no 'give' for my belly :(

I honestly think that if you do lc, you stop retaining lots of fluid but once you introduce carbs the bloat is straight back.
Also remember, once you have carbs back in your diet you will get cravings again ( i did anyway) and it was the start of the slippery slope :(

I just cant restrict myself to a few carbs anymore, i think it's all or nothing as they make me so hungry ( it could be my unstable sugar levels though)

    Good luck.

It's like you can read my mind Maz, me and OH were having this conversation last night, I said I can't wait until the night before the holiday as I am goin to get a takeaway and he then commented that if I start gorging on crisps and biscuits etc then I will bloat right up:(
I don't want to diet on holiday - this holiday has cost us £3000 and I want to thoroughly enjoy every minute, so might just do damage limitation and have carbs sparingly only if I really want them, so at breakfast I can still eat a cooked breakfast but will save any carbs for my tea and hopefully dance it off later on that night:)

I think as well, I will start re introducing 'good' carbs about a month before I go and see how my body reacts to it.

Yes, I put on 2 lbs in one day because of cherries and grapes:(it was gone by the next day when I went straight back on lc but it certainly bloated me, seems like once your in, your in.

Hi Glowgirl, out of curiosity, what is a typical menu for you in a day? I only ask becasue we are similar weights and wondered what you eat? How long have you been doing low carb for?:A

Oh and alias, I have the asparagus problem too, maybe it's too much protein?

I dont each much unfortunatly:( Brekkie is usually coffee and a protein shake if I'm really starving I'll have some ham as well but this is rare, lunch atm is my fav pork chop and a fried egg, dinner is just a very small portion of the meat everyone else is having. No snacks:( but I do have about 4 coffees a day. I lost a lot of weight lcing about 4 years ago but when we moved house about a stone of it crept back on again, I joined the lc thread very recently as this time round things seem to be harder, I did read that you get one golden shot at lcing, I think I've had mine;)Anyway I'm still lcing but joining the thread gave me loads of ideas and inspration for lc dishes but I ate too many of them and stalled and started gaining so now I'm doing lc but eating a lot less and I have to say its working, I weighed in this morning at 8st 7lb so only 2lb away from target, I can really tell the difference now in the fit of my clothes, no more muffin top:Tbut I love to eat and do miss my constant grazing but hey ho, you cant have it all where weights concerned;)
Thank you for this site Martin

    Good luck for the future

    Morning all.

Well I'm afaid after Eric's informative post......I'm going to bring the tone down. :D :T:T:T

I have asparagus pee. :D You know when you eat asparagus your pee smells funny? well mine smells like that but I've not eaten asparagus. Or anything different to normal (although I did have corned beef and I haven't had that for while...but even so it's never had that effect before so I'm not convinced it's even got anything to do with it anyway). Sorry to those who dont want to think about such things but it's bothering me. :rotfl:Anyone else experienced this whilst icing?

what does asparagas pee smell like? I have no idea so dont know if ive got it

going out for lunch - makes it so hard to low carb I went to a meeting yesterday where they said there was a buffet provided - so I thought there would be something I could eat - but no it was all white bread sandwiches and cake, i ended up picking prawns out of a prawn mayo sandwich , I was starving :( ( serves me right for not taking my own)

We aim to please, sarah. :D

How come I've never (in at least 4 years of yo-yo low carbing) had this before though? Very strange.

Well, you know how they say you'd know if you'd had an orgasm? Asparagus pee is the same, you'd know if you had it. :rotfl: It's just a distinctive strong smell. Not a pee smell. :D

Well to add to this lovely conversation my pee is bright, luminous yellow - looks like it would glow in the dark:eek: Side effect of Berrocca;)

    Where is everyone hiding again?

I've been to Cardiff shopping and for lunch, had a lovely day but it was freezing and i'm shattered now.
Early start tomorrow so i'll be having an early night.

I think i need to be on three shakes a day and sod all else the shape on me :(

I'm hoping my fibroid op will remove this awful bloated feeling, even after just a cuppa and a piece of toast i get it.
