I'm still feeling carp but not as carp as before so things are getting better on that front, just not on other fronts :(

Glowgirl - Which shake did you choose? I`ve been looking at this one http://www.hollandandbarrett.com/pages/product_detail.asp?pid=2054&prodid=2293 any good peeps?

Sunny, how are you getting on with the shakes?? I'm thinking of giving them a try & having one for brekkie & lunch & then a 'proper' meal (maybe low-gi) for dinner??

I googled the shakes you have (have to do something at ridiculous'o'clock in the morning, I've been up since before 5am) as there wasn't much info on the H&B site (that I could see) & the Boots site had a lot more detailed info. Might get mine from there as I would get points & they're the same price as H&B :D Have also seen them advertised on TV in the last couple of days & apparently Argos sell them?! Bit random?! Anyway, it's something I'm thinking about so if you can let me know how you're getting on with them, that would be great :)

Lovely sunny day here too :)

Tescos bbq food flew out earrly yesterday, so it seems we all have the same idea when the suns out, bbq at home or bbq on the beach :)
So thats what were having today, i'll be off to clear the top garden soon, a bit of exercise and i'll earn my bbq food.

Sweet, had the same idea as you, shake for brekkie and lunch, then a lowish carb evening meal.
Tried it yesterday but it didnt quite go according to plan, the shake for brekkie is great, i do that quite often, but by lunchtime i was starving as i went over 4 hours (dont like going longer than that as i get too hungry, but was in work and we're short staffed ) so the shake went back in my bag and i had curry/rice/chips :(
But thats the plan, gonna give it a good go, just need to get into a routine.

I'm sitting here with a coffee listening to birdsong and random voices floating in from outside, it's so relaxing... just need the sound of lawnmowers now... bliss
Have a nice Sunday i'm off to clear the garden :)

    Afternoon peeps,

just a quickie from moi as i`m at work :(

    Sweet the shakes are great!:D

I`ve tried this sort of thing before and always been starving but these are really doing the job. I am only having one per day though either for brekkie or dinner and then having my main meal later for tea.

I`ve not really read all the bumf thats on the label - all i know is that they are working atm and hope that it continues.

Look at my post count I have been a member of this website for a long time.

The point a lot of people are missing is that once you have lost the weight and then consolidated the weightloss you are then expected to maintain one day a week as a pure protein day this is to keep your weight in check.

I have done many diets and they all work, the problem for most people including my self is the stickability. So far I am two weeks in and I am enjoying the diet. Yes its a bit more messing but I have been trying things I wouldn't have dreamt of.

For instance today we had a barbecue, I made my own burgers (nothing new there) but I also had chicken and Swede Chips. I made a side of onions, leeks and red peppers. I served this on a oatbran pancake. It was lovely and I did not miss the barbecue baked beans, coleslaw and jersey royals smothered in butter.

Since starting the diet I have had two nights out and they had been planned a while so the diet was off, I knew this would affect the scales the next day but for me I don't eat out often enough to deprive myself of a dessert. Alcohol though was not a problem for me and I stuck to mineral water.

So far I have lost 9.3lbs and I estimate I have at least another 30lb to go.
    £2.00 Savers Club = £34.00 So Far

+ however may £2 coins I have saved in my Terramundi since 2000.

    Terramundi weighs 8lb 5oz

Me too, trouble with icing is, as soon as you have any carbs on an 'off' day, you get so damn bloated, !

Oh so thats why I have put 4and a half pounds on this weekend
I went to a do on friday night and we had pie and peas and I had 4 glasses of champagne , I thought i had been quite restrained and went to the gym the next day and everything, weighed myself this morning and hey presto a gain of 4.5lbs :o

that gain really knocked my motivation too , i'm finding it hard to get back to icing , I had a 99 this afternoon as it was so hot :(

on the plus side got a lot done in the garden this weekend , planted my beans , sweetcorn , onions, beetroot and tomatoes , my peppers and chillis are doing well , and my rocket and lettuce is almost ready to eat :T

mazzers, hope you enjoyed or are maybe still enjoying your bbq :D
It has been soooooo hot here today but we had a downpour earlier & it cooled things down, thank goodness!! Hope it stayed nice for you.

Sunny, that's promising about the shakes, thanks for that. Can I ask why you decided on the definity instead of the sculptress or finesse?? I need to read up on them again as my head was a bit fuzzy earlier, but just wondered why you opted for that one. :)

sister, I got fed up with the sudden weight gain if I so much as sniffed a chip, tis very disheartening. The thing is not to weigh yourself if you can help it, rely on how you feel & how your clothes feel, remember it's probably just 'water weight' & will disappear pretty quickly. Hope you manage to get back on track.

    Hi everyone
I know this is the emotional support thread so I am putting this to the test as I just have to get this off my chest - although I seriously considered posting under a new user name as I am so ashamed.:o

I bumped into omeone I haven't seen at work for a few months (not since the Oct 09- Feb10 great "xmas" foody blow-out) and was mortified when they offered congratulations as they thought I was pregnant ! I am a good size 14 at the minute and have lost 1 stone since Feb and am well aware I have a way to go but I was truely horrified that that was how someone else saw me. :(They were embarrassed and I just brushed it off but could have cheerfully bawled like a girl. :cry:What makes it worse is that someone else asked me the same question just as I started doing SW so clearly although I have lost 1 stone, it has made bu**er all difference to how I look. :(

On the up side - I completed the 10k Race for Life today :j- belting weather so am definately sun-kissed (or sun-smacked in places) but had a lovely time, although in seeing the photos am well aware of how much more weight I need to lose.

Sorry to bleat - I wasn't going to post this but just had to tell someone (or several someones).

    Mx
I was going to take over the world but got distracted by something sparkly.......
  • BarmyCow (love the user name btw :rotfl:), I've had the same thing happen to me so you are not alone. I don't know who was more mortified, me or my Auntie, & the awful thing was she thought I was kidding when I told her I wasn't pregnant _pale_

Anyway, muchos congratulations on the weight loss & the race for life :j Both brilliant achievements so don't knock yourself down. Well done :j

    Morning guys,

already busy here at w*rk so only a shortie again from me.

Shakes are still working well :D did have a cheat yesterday afternoon though as i couldn`t resist an ice cream in the sweltering heat, couldn`t resist a beer either but still the same weight as yesterday so i`ve not gained.

Sweet - I didn`t even read the info about any of the other shakes, i read a short paragraph about the definity one and decided that it sounded fine, no deciding or analysing, i just plumped for it and i`m glad that i did. Just had one for breakkie about four thirty so should see me through for a while.

Mazzers i have another one in the fridge all made up as the test shake, i shall have it later and see what its like.

Later i shall have scramblies and two sausages and then later tonight chicken salad. I have an emergency pepperami in case i do get the nibbles:D its gonna be a long day so i`m prepared.

Barmy Cow  welcome, you`re not alone in the preggers thing, i`ve been there too :o in fact i was a lot smaller than i am now :o

Right best tootle off, have a lovely day peeps.
