I'm also a bit pleased with myself today, in six weeks I've lost a grand total of 15.5lb with only 5.5lb to go! I'm even daring to wear leggings with knee high boots today!0

Hi Madget!
Wow thats great going!! Well done!!
I lost 7lbs so far but have decided to do 10 days Attack then move on to Cruise phase. MY tummy is so much flatter than it was and I haven't felt hungry! Why not try some Canderel as a sugar substitute. We are allowed it and it tastes better than you think. I am loving my scrambled eggs and smoked salmon in the morning!
I felt shattered for the first couple of days then I felt great! Remember to drink your water! At least 2 litres! It helps with the whole process! I found the Dukan subforum on Minimins helpful when I am not sure about something. They are experts there!
Keep going and let me know how Cruise is!
xxxI have realised I will never play the Dane!
Where are my medals? Everyone else on here has medals!!0 -
Very well done, you, too!
I did consider lengthening my Attack to 10 days, but it's difficult as I cook for both myself and my (non-Dukan dieting) husband and it's far easier to adapt meals for the two of us when I can have at least some veg. You'll probably end up getting quite a few pounds ahead of me over the next few days, lucky thing!
Whilst I'd normally avoid sweetener like the plague, I have been using it for certain things - such as the chocolate crèmes and home made tomato ketchup. It does help. I tend to drink quite a lot of water anyway, so am not having any problems incorporating that aspect, thankfully. (All of that running to the loo is great exercise, too!) I agree with the not feeling hungry bit. I experienced a few hunger pangs over the first couple of days, but not anymore.
Haven't heard about the website forum you mention, but I'll try and find it. Sounds pretty good.
I don't know how often you've been weighing yourself, but I intend to do so once a week from now on, so I'll post back next weekend with a progress update. I hope you'll do the same as it's such a boost to know that someone else is following the same diet at the same time. :-)
Happy Dukanning!

Hi guys, just a quick question - I have been really good and exercised most days (even if only for 30 mins) and have been eating well. I weighed myself today and had only lost 2lbs which I was gutted about cos I have a ton of weight to lose and its my first week, so surely I should be pulling a bigger number than that?
I had a full tin of soup and a pint of water about 20 mins before I weighed myself so would this have put weight on just before the weigh in?0 -

to loose 1 lb you need to create a calorie deficit of 3500 cals, to loose 2lbs in a week you have to create a defecit of 1000 calories a day, which is a lot.
Of course eating and drinking will increase your weight, a pint of water weights 1.25lbs, a mug of tea etc can weigh 0.6lbs
The best way to weight yourself is pick one day a week, then weight yourself first thing in the morning after your ablutions and before you eat or drink, ideally naked. Consistency is the key to getting accurate comparisons week on week.0 -
Yeah I know I have to create a 7000 calorie dent for the 2 lbs but in the past I have lost 5-6lbs in week one so I am just a bit disappointed. I know its better off than on but I just felt a bit disheartened. I always weigh myself at roughly the same time on the same scales but for some reason the results can differ hugely.0

Hi all,
Louise - totally get where you're coming from - excersizing everyday feels like you should definately los more than 2lb... and its so disheartening when you don't lose as much as you hope for, fingers crossed it doesn' tnock you off track and you have a bigger weight loss next week.
I've done 30 mins walking everyday this last week and this week stepping up to 30 mins waling everyday plus 3 swims in the week. I'm going to need to have a think about how to step it up again next week but will get ontop of this week first. I am away for a conference for 2 days whcih will be hard so need to think about how to make sure i do my excersize as its onyl week 2 and I dont' want to go off track..
I did my first swim this morning and my arms are aching now. Had planned to swim again tomorrow but will see how i feel..i wanted to aviod planning to swim in the morning because when i don't go ( which is likely I'll feel rubbish all day for not doing as planned!!) best if i try and plan an evening so need to think carefully.
i've been out today for lunch and not done too badly.. resisted the garlic bread with cheese.
I did have a flat bread thing though.. - it was a turkish restauraunt and so it was like a tortilla wrap bread but really really thin - anyone knwo what they are called ? so I can investigate how they compare carb wise to normal bread etc.. am hoping because they are so thin i haven't ruined what until today has been a good week diet wise.
went to my mums for tea tonight and had no desert and only a very small meal - although am feeling very full and very tired. I did walk for an hour and swim this morning which is more excersize in one day than i have done in 3 years prior to this last week.. so maybe that is whay i feel a bit tired x
Think i'll pop off now, iron my clothes for tomorrow and have an early night..
see you all tomororo xBaby due 4th May 2013

A little browse suggests that it could be 'Pide' or 'Barbari' bread, which still looks pretty high in carbs. from what little I've found, but hey, don't worry about it. Your body will soon use it up and you can carry on as you were. You're doing great. The occasional little hiccup is allowed, as long as you forget it and move on
Don't overdo the excercise if it's been a while. You could end up not being able to do any. Build up gradually.
Listen to me, talking like I've got it all sewn up. Hilarious :rotfl:

Woo hoo.. good for you
My leggings days are well over :rotfl:0 -
Good lunch time to you all.
Don't know where you all are but I figured I'd say Hi anyway.
Well I'm still being good, had a small wobble last night where I felt I might have wanted to just locust my way through the kitchen but I stayed where I was and the feeling passed thankfully.
I'm also being more pro-active about the house again, I'm not quite as tired as I was when I was just a carb hoover. I'd forgotten how good it felt to be more 'awake' and not so sluggish.Herman - MP for all!0
