I have a defence..,..kind of :D......tis youngest's birthday shortly and I've been out a lot trying to hunt down weird and wonderful things that only she seems to know about. :undecided

Found out why so many probs with the line yet Maz?

OH is off doing his run today, we were supposed to be going along to support him but a change in circumstance has meant someone had to be here today so he's on his own now. I actually feel quite bad that other runners will have family and friends at the finish line and he wont.

I'll be spending today with a paintbrush I suspect, if I can get up enough motivation that is.

Middle one is in Tenerife at the moment, I'm sat here looking out the window at grey skies and I'm really really jealous. :( I need some sun I think.

Fed up being fat today, was watching Strictly last night and saw how much they sweated whilst training. It's *just* dancing fgs, it's surprising how many muscle groups are involved. Considered getting the yellow pages out for a night class in ballroom dancing but knowing my luck I'd get a dance teacher like Norris from Corrie and a class full of blue rinse pensioners. (Sorry to all blue rinse pensioners out there, I was just needing something a little more active. :D) Ach I would probably have been the North's equivilent of Anne Widdecombe anyway. :rotfl:

    See you all later. :D

Was also without phone and bb for over a week, great British thunderstorms have a lot to answer for. It was a real pain, I kept thinking of how we must have managed without all these things in the past but it was no help - so commiserations. BT are pretty good about fixing things up here, their vans were buzzing round all over the place as lots of others here had the same problem.

After such a hopeful start - yes only 2 days ago, how feeble am I, I went to a friend's last night and had a mountain of Indian takeaway. I don't know why it is, but if I go to someone's house and they've done food, or ordered takeaway etc, if there's too much I always feel I have to eat a lot, so they don't feel embarrassed at having over-catered. My son in law in particular, always equates providing food with giving love, and he's a great cook, but if you don't come back for seconds or thirds, he seems so offended. It's the same with food he's bought in too, not just stuff he's cooked. His mother's the same.

Anyway while there a very kind daughter gave me her old iphone, I was only wishing for one on Friday. So will investigate the app that was suggested, though working out how to make basic phone calls will probably come first. Can anyone recommend an idiot's guide?

Judging by the weather, it's a day full of comfort eating risks - good thing I'm off to work.

With respect Liz...that's one of the worst reasons I've seen for eating too much. :rotfl:

Lucky you, both OH and I would like one of those but neither of us can afford one. :D Your daughter was very kind indeed.

Edited to say....just making sure you know the 'reasons' comment was just gentle banter, it's common around these parts. ;):D

  • Hi
I have bin on the diet from 07.06.10 starting with 84.5kg it took me 19 weeks to lose 11kg and the weight loss was continoues approx 1kg a week (for me) now i am 53 days on the faze 3 and so far no weight gain. I still have long way to go bat i am going to follow the book as i wont to see what will happend when i go back to eating normal food. I have picekd up some good habits allong the way ans do not pick between the meals any more. I eat 4x a day and it is more then enough for me.

I know, it does seem like just another excuse - and I'm good at those - but I always remember going to someone's house who had laid on a party but not really invited anyone. She had just told people at work it was open house and to drop in, so hardly anyone turned up. I think she thought she was more popular than she actually was. She was so disappointed and really mortified, so those of us who did appear, stuffed ourselves silly and kept saying inane things like 'Good thing there weren't more people, all the more lovely food for us' and so on etc etc, just to try to make her feel better.

Anyway, tiring day at work, come home to find dog has weed on carpet so will Vax it now, before making anything to eat. Burn up a few more calories - yay!
