Btw...how many of these 'syns' are you allowed in a day? You all seem to be eating loads of bad things. :rotfl: I'm warming to the theme. :D

Between 5 and 15 per day. I usually average about 8-10 but yesterday I had 14.5 as I was syn-hungry!!

    2 jaffa cakes (5), tunnocks teacake (5.5) & a packet of tortilla crisps (4) - naughty but nice!! :D

Syns can also be things like cheese, crackers, using oil in cooking etc.

It's just nice to know that you can have 'naughty' things although nothing is classed as 'diet' food on SW anyway - chips, quiche, curries etc are all fine to eat.

Hi all, just spotted this thread and think I should join.

Am so sick of my binging habit. Started SW again yesterday, did well until I got home tonight and even though I wasn't starving, knew I had to wait until 8pm when hubby got home so promptly ate everything I could get my hands on - 65 syns later I'm feeling :(

Might I suggest some reading material?
Breaking Free from Emotional Eating by Geneen Roth is an excellent book. In fact I've just ordered another two books of her's (from Amazon - much cheaper).

Hey everyone - been on holiday for 10 days and I only put on 1lb :T What can I say it's been a revelation :D I didn't spend all my time of holiday eating, stuffing my face with ice creams or chocolate. Did have a treat now and then but was definately in a different holiday mode to previous trips away (would have put on nearer half a stone in the past :o).
So feeling pretty good with myself and actually didn't miss the scales at all - now if I can convince my H to get rid of them that can only be a good thing!

Hi Skint, welcome to the thread :D It is difficult to stick to a new healthy eating plan, I have to have my head in the right place, ie. I don't start anything when I have raging PMT!! Also, being organised & having plenty of food in, having a rough meal plan sorted etc.

I am notorious for stopping & starting 'diets' (for want of a better word) but SW seems to be working for me as there's so much choice & flexibility in what I can eat.

Sadly it's not new to me - this will be my 9th year of SW but my head's not in the right place!
  • mazzers, I remembered that the Go Ahead bars are McVities so had a quick look on the SW website but there's loads of different varieties/syn values!! Let me know which one (or three) you want me to check. The yoghurt variety are definitely 3.5 syns per slice.

There's also a new thing that SW thread peeps rave about - Kelloggs Fibre Plus cereal bars - very chocolatey apparently. You can have one as a HEB choice or the milk chocolate version is 5.5 syns.

    Evening all
Fell asleep on the sofa again :o
Went to doc yesterday for more bloods and a BP check, put me on an extra med as its still way too high :(
Yet more fatigue to be expected then.

Thanks for the info sweet, very kind of you :)
Those ryvita mini's are so not worth it, there are only TEN in a bag, will look for the WW ones.

I like the new orange and cherry go ahead bars, yummy, but have a feeling they will be high as there's three in a pkt, would make do with the lowest ones tho.
Those fibre things sound a better option.

    Morning peeps

i woke up at ten to blooming four on my day off  after listening to the rain pounding on the windows i thought that i might as well get up and make myself useful. So far i`ve filled the dishwasher and have a load of washing almost finished:eek:, i`ve cleaned the kitchen and have a chicken cooking in the remoska.

Yesterday i ate a chocolate mini roll for breakfast , nothing for dinner and for tea i had tuna salad with garlic bread and an apple danish :o

Was hugely peed off yesterday, i spent 4 hours trying to get the blood out of the grain on my new unsealed door, i tried meths, white spirit and then a mixture of stuff from a neighbour. It didn`t work very well and sanding was getting me nowhere so i bit the bullet and washed the door down, gave it another rub over with white spirit and then went and bought some primer. I now have a white door that i absolutely hate!
Looks like i`m going to have to have another new door put on at some point when funds allow!

Todays food will be scramblies and toast for brekkie, and i`m not sure about the rest yet. DH was supposed to bring home a garlic chicken but picked up a sage and onion stuffing stuffed one by mistake - they look similar with all the green bits on but i wish that he`d read the bloomin packageing. Will use that for tea but not sure what to do with it yet as i was originally planning chicken chow mein :D

    Skint-catt -

Bitsy - Thats good going for a holiday, well done

Crikey i can hear DH getting up - he`s early today, maybe the rain woke him too. I`m off to put the kettle on.

    Have a good day peeps.

Lol, not sure the WW are worth it either, haven't counted but there's not many in a bag.

Couldn't see the orange & cherry bars. The go ahead stuff tends to be between 5.5 - 7 syns per pack though. The yoghurt ones are the highest - typical - I like them!!

Another option is Alpen Lights (can get 5 for 99p in Home Bargains atm apparently). You can have 2 as a HEB or 3 syns each.

Sorry to hear about the BP & extra med btw :(
  • Sunny, that's awful about your door, could you claim on your home insurance?? Alternatively paint the existing door a colour rather than white?? I picture your house in my head as an old stone type so maybe a period colour would go?? Might have got that completely wrong though!! :rotfl:

Sweet its not worth claiming on the insurance as the excess would eat it up and the premiums would probably increase next year, i`ve just done my quote for next year as its up for renewal shortly.

Stone type nar lol its a 1930`s semi detached, a good solid house through and through, needs a lot more work but we`re getting there. I think that the thing thats peeing me off most is that the door is a new one that i hadn`t got around to sealing, i saved for a specific type of door throughout the inside of the house so now will have to source another to match and get that hung, i seem to be doing quite a few things twice.

I`ve just opened a jar of lime marmalade that i made last year and its delish :D
