Hi all, just spotted this thread and think I should join.

Am so sick of my binging habit. Started SW again yesterday, did well until I got home tonight and even though I wasn't starving, knew I had to wait until 8pm when hubby got home so promptly ate everything I could get my hands on - 65 syns later I'm feeling :(

you need to break the emotional and physical attraction to food, its not easy it takes a couple of weeks of will power to detox yourself and get your insulin levels more stable.

    Any suggestions how to start?

Ooooh no, i didnt, but i must say, they're worth it, my old book says muller lights are free, but that must be the boring ones.

Lol, yes most mullerlights are free but I remembered reading on the SW thread that peeps had been caught out by the choc ones. Anyway, you enjoy them and you're losing weight so all is good :D

Would you possilbly know how many are in a pkt of ryvita minis and a pkt of go ahead bars??

Ryvita minis are 5 syns for a 30g bag all varieties. I can't remember who makes go ahead bars & I need that to search so let me know & I'll have a look. I had the yoghurt covered twin pack a while back & I mis-read the syns - think it was 3 or 3.5 syns but it was per slice so 6 or 7 syns for the whole pack!!
Another crisp option is WW chilli tortillas at 4 syns - you get 6 bags for £1 in Poundland (obviously) but you don't get many in a bag.
I also had a Tunnocks teacake for 5.5 syns yesterday - now that was worth it!! :D

Probably, but parboiling is part of the cooking process - I just can't be faffed with that bit because you have to watch them like a hawk or risk over-doing them (which is what I did the first time I did them like that :o). We had unparboiled potato wedges last night & I think they took about half an hour in the oven??

Making chilli tonight (I'm using up the mince before the F-F gets turned off) & I'll be having that with a baked spud

Unfortunately hubby is wanting to eat out a couple of times before he goes back to work next week - Whitby for fish & chips (I'll syn the fish as I intend keeping the batter on & will have with mushy peas instead of chips) - and the moors pub we go to for a barmeal (that will be the difficult one to be sensible but I'll do my best )

Yes, I keep a food diary but not an exercise diary as I'm not doing any atm :o

The food diary definitely helps me keep on track though.

    Morning all. *waves*

Tired again today, didn't get to bed till after midnight then lay awake for ages thinking about stuff. OH didn't get in from work until 3am and is on the couch now and we've been up since 6am as the joiner was supposed to be here at 8am to do work in the bedrooms.

Needless to say he's not here yet and we're all like half shut knives. :(

We're now down 3 rooms and an airing cupboard. 2 bedrooms and a dining room/junk room are all out of action, they're just shells and have the doors and wood etc stored in them and the airing cupboard needs rebuilt.

All the stuff from the rooms is distributed in the other rooms so there is a temporary Argos clothes rack in the kitchen in front of the kettle and several boxes in front of the fridge. :D Might help stop me from eating if I cant physically access the food. :rotfl:

Btw...how many of these 'syns' are you allowed in a day? You all seem to be eating loads of bad things. :rotfl: I'm warming to the theme. :D

  • Hi Skint, welcome to the thread :D It is difficult to stick to a new healthy eating plan, I have to have my head in the right place, ie. I don't start anything when I have raging PMT!! Also, being organised & having plenty of food in, having a rough meal plan sorted etc.

I am notorious for stopping & starting 'diets' (for want of a better word) but SW seems to be working for me as there's so much choice & flexibility in what I can eat.
