Btw, anyone know where I can buy mustard seeds from?? It's an ingredient in a bombay potato recipe that I fancy doing. Looked in Tesco today but couldn't find any in the spice or mustard aisle

Think i got mine from Sainsburys, they were the schwartz ones in a glass jar with the herbs and spices so not the cheapest but as you know they can be difficult to find sometimes.

  • Thanks sunny, I did look in that aisle in Tesco but no luck. Don't have a big Sainsbugs here so maybe try Morrisons or Asda, at least I know which aisle to look in now!! :D

I got a big 700g jar of them in a warehouse-type shop that sells lots of different stuff. They've lasted me way beyond their BBD but I love them sprinkled on salads, etc..
They're made by 'Rye Spice Co. Ltd.'. Can't remember how much they were. I got a jar of bicarb. and a jar of cinnamon sticks at the same time. I would've been drawn either to the convenient large size or the price..

Sunny's suggestion is probably more useful, but I've been so pleased with them I thought I'd chuck my 2p in :D (and little spice jars running out is annoying!)
  • Thanks hanno :D Haven't seen that brand before so don't think we have anywhere local that sells it, although now I'm thinking about it, I'm wondering if a local deli-type shop that I've never been in might have some  Will have a look, thanks. Didn't know you could get black & yellow mustard seeds though, why do things have to be so confusing!! :rotfl:

Well, I've been to weigh-in & I've 'officially' gained half a lb :o I'm actually quite relieved about that because I weighed on my home scales before I left & it was looking more like +2lbs!!

I do feel ridiculously motivated & postive atm, tis not like me at all!! I should be feeling ridiculously depressed after seeing my holiday snaps, did I really look that bad?! Anyway, I feel really quite focussed & determined & I'm aiming for a decent loss next week. Hope I don't have to eat my words!!

Fair point cost wise, but nutrition wise if you whack in a bit of garlic (optional), chopped onion and a can of tomatoes, a dash of olive oil , tomato paste and dried herbs, seasoning and a touch of sugar you have a nutritionally FAR superior food than your jar of sauce which may contain added water and thickener to bulk it out. With a sauce made this way, you can always freeze portions (if you've got access to a freezer) and you may use less of it to coat your spaghetti because the flavour is more intense.

If you've got a freezer, I'd definitely be cooking for 4 and freezing three portions!

How the hell did this post end up stuck in the middle of this thread??!!
I don't think I had any wine that night! Did I post in the wrong place or has someone been moving stuff round again??

    ......................... Just ordered a chinese :o

I have one more day off the wagon and then three weeks of dieting before my hols :j

I`ve only just finished clearing everything up and i`m knackered :o There is actually some chilli in the fridge that can just be heated up but i`m going to save that for tomorrow.

The blind is up in the kitchen but there are big black handmarks all over the place, the guy had a right job doing it and easily understood why i`d had enough :p Oh and i`ve got a new hole in the wall  My fault though so i`d best get some filler and some sandpaper sometime soon to fix it, not just yet though as i`m sick of it all now. Tomorrow will be spent cooking and i have some work clothes that need ironing, i intend to relax a bit as i`ll be working non stop for a week before i get another day off.

DH and the woofaloes are home from their fishing trip hence the takeaway, they are all starving and tired so its still quite peaceful. Bet the telly goes on soon though.

Sweet - Thats great, only half a pound! bet mines considerably more after our hols :D

Daisy - I`m going to take a back seat with the diy for a bit, i`m only going to tackle the small stuff i think, my joints are stiff and sore and i find that i can`t do things as well as i used to especially things that need accurate measuring, i`m getting past it :( i did the last house from top to bottom almost single handedly - i never dreamed that this one would need so much work, the annoying thing is that i`m never satisfied with how things end up when i get peeps in to do stuff, i know that i can do it better and it bugs me. Think i`ll stick to stuff like decorating lol

Right grub is here :D wine is coming out and i`m going to enjoy it!

Hello everyone just popping back to let you know I went to the diet clinic today and have lost all the weight I'd gained last time and when the doctor weighed me for the second time before I left, I weighed less than I did the month before last as I nolonger had the Blood Pressure Monitor strapped to my arm, from when the nurse weighed me! Every little helps!! Hope you are all doing well xxx

Well done Ruby! :T It's great when things go the right way isn't it? :D

Been a while since I had that feeling admittedly.........:rotfl:

Morning all. Tired again today, 3 people sqashed into one small bedroom does not make for a happy night.

TOTM started as well so that doesn't help. This is the second month of TOTM (iyswim) that I haven't had any bouts of rage or serious mood swings. I also didn't experience the food cravings I usually do so I'm a firm acupuncture convert now.

Daughter is just off to school this morning, with first day back nerves. She's at that 'self aware' stage....'do I look all right'.....'is my hair ok' ....does my bag look too big' etc etc. I don't remember being like that at her age (this is her last year at primary). I'm now sat here with a huge sense of relief that she's off. :rotfl:

Don't know if the joiner will show today or not. Don't really care right now either. Might go back to bed if he doesn't turn up. :D

Sunny....empathise with the stiff joints. :rotfl:I still feel like I'm a sweet young thing but my body tells me differently.

Have a good a day all.
