Arrrghghh! I've just noticed how calorific croutons are, after I have eaten a load of course. Sigh.

On a positive, a friend I haven't seen for a few weeks told me I have lost weight - result!! So far I think it is about a dress size maybe a little more. :j

The exercising is improving my mood too. The day after I seem happier (even DH has commented). I still hate it though. :p

    Night night. x

im afraid hes talking out of his @ss about the starvation mode

I dropped down to 1500 cals and stopped loosing weight 4 weeks ago (i had a 25k cal deficit), I went up to 2000 cals and the next 3 weeks avgd 3.5lbs a week

his assumption about BMR just makes him look a fool, my diet program on on my iphone automatically calculates my daily intake based on my new BMR after each weigh in ....

shoots him out of the water

my OH who is on WW didnt loose weight for 4 weeks, i got her to up her points by 20% and she lost weight for the next 4 weeks

he sounds like inspector clouseau, i wish to talk about 3 merths :D

    Morning guys.

Spending the day at home today in amongst the building debris. Can't get in the living room for kitchen units, cant get in the kitchen for sheets of ply and dust sheets, can't get in the bedroom for the bed and other units from another bedroom etc BUT.......I need to tape/fill/sand the new plasterboard in the bedroom before the skirtings go on tomorrow so I drove back up the road today with the dog and will get a sleeping bag out of the loft and hunker down in a corner somewhere later on.

We just moved to our second week's accomodation last night and OH's sis arrived for a few nights stay. OH is off today and everyone is playing happy families and going to a tourist park with the kids whilst I came here to sand. I have to admit to feeling a tad angry and resentful this morning. If he was any kind of man he'd have asked his sis to mind the kids whilst he came with me to help but no, he is what he is.

I couldn't even get what takeaway I wanted for dinner last night as his sis wanted a chippie so that's what we had. (Should I even have mentioned that bit on this thread? :D) When she was away getting it, I took the dog out as an act of rebellion and then couldn't eat it when I came back as it was cold. ;):D I realise how immature that was btw. :D Kinda cut my nose off though as I was flipping starving. :rotfl:

Don't get me wrong, OH's sis is alright and I usually get on well with her, she's a nice sort. I just feel like everyone's needs are getting put above mine right now and they all seem to forget we're not actually on holiday. I'm stressed out trying to organise things, drive miles to get the required wood, sort out the joiner, check what the insurance lot have done etc etc. And now we're living 60 miles away, it's even harder. Went to bed early last night as I've been getting up at 5am to do stuff most mornings and she's storming up and down the hall like a tank, banging doors (she doesn't naturally do quiet) and he's lifting toilet seats loudly and banging them off the cistern. Ok reading that back, it makes me sound very petty :D I just hate the lack of thought for others whilst they're doing their own thing iyswim.

Can't wait until the house is sorted, I feel as if I'm in limbo until then. As soon as it is, things will be changing around here. It's not healthy living with people who don't value you. What goes around comes around.

So....did you all miss my continual moaning? :D

Sarah, I'm so sorry things aren't good with your Mum, I know exactly how you're feeling right now and I sympathise greatly. Chin up pet, you just need to battle on. x

I haven't read all through the thread (just a very quick scan) so here's a general hi to any newbies, well done to any who have lost weight and hope the regulars have been behaving themselves.

    Hah, theres nothing to read!

It does sound petty but i know how you feel, i've got horrid kids next door and they are like lunatics first thing, and she lets them carry on with it, p*sses me right off, as theres no consideration for neighbours, they are kicking a ball at the wall all hours, all i ever hear is thud thud thud.
They've just got a puppy too, and she lets them tease it til its barking like mad at 7.30 am on a sunday, so i've started thumping the wall at them :D
I'm half tempted to get a ball and throw it against the wall when they're in bed at night.

Just make sure that things do change when you come back missus.

    Hi, interesting posts, thanks!
My daughter and I are very close in height and weight but she's the skinny minny - she works out so she has muscle, whereas since I temporarily stopped working out I'm sorry to say I have flab! :( So it's true you can weigh more but look a lot better - the choice is whether you are toned or not, and of course the right workouts will help people feel better anyway. (I did when I was working out - there are reasons it's gone by the wayside for now but I want to get back there).
Just a point to do with cycling vs. walking or running: as I understand it, running & walking are load-bearing exercises and cycling isn't. Load bearing exercise helps bone density - so a certain amount of footwork is a good idea, especially if there's any reason to suspect your bones may begin to thin. Reasons could include family history of osteoporosis or osteopenia, use of steroids, taking thyroxine, early menopause (not in your case Cat! :D) and probably more. Obviously the risk increases with age too, but I'm under 50 and have osteopenia so I'm kind of spreading the gospel about awareness (it's easily treatable btw).
How are you doing with your weight/exercise now, if you don't mind me asking, Cat? You seem to have been working away at a point in the year when many of us were inclined to hibernate, which is impressive!

Edit - just noticed which board this is on (I found it while searching for something else) - on a MS front, there's a lot to be said for walking & running! ;)
