Me too. I love trees and agree they are very healing and relaxing. The swishing of the leave, their colours in autumn, their cycle of renewal which gives you hope for the future xxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
I know where you are coming from hannoja, when I go down to my Dad's house in Kent I love to just sit in the back garden near the little woods. I always feel so much better just chilling out without all the sounds of traffic!!
Feeling a bit better now, have been very pro-active and written some speculative covering letters to send out to loads of accounts firm. Also went for a walk at lunch time instead of having my usual cigarette.
Next on my (very long) to do list is to call the woman who runs the Rosemary Conley class and check that I can join on Wednesday night. And then hopefully my belts will feel loose soon lmao!!

:grouphug: << hanno, glowy, Molly & Mystery (you can't see her, she's round the other side) hugging trees
<< me standing there wanting to join in :rotfl:
Yep, another nature-lover here, I do sometimes sit outside with a daft smile on my face listening to birdsong, rustling trees etcTis good for the soul.
daisy, don't be daft, I wasn't at all offended, that's what pals are forYou have got me wondering if I could do SW though. Watch this space...
gravity, gotta agree with sarah, you would be far better treating yourself to something else, either saving the money for something big like a girlie spa break or getting yourself a little something like a new lippy. I think you need to get out of the 'rewarding yourself with food for being good' cycle. It's difficult because you effectively have a partner in crime, if she has cake then it's ok for you to have cake, iyswim?! It's not ok if you're trying to lose weightAnd now I'll just tootle off & try to practice what I preach
:whistle::rotfl:

Hannoja - I agree re the trees. I can't describe how my soul lifts when I am in the countryside, especially down south in north Devon
gravity - I agree with Sarah. I use food as a reward and it's a habit I need to break. Can you find a non food reward at all?
Feeling more motivated today. Back on Paul McK so have promised myself two weeks to see how I get on. H has bought a kettlebell delivered and OMG it's 20kg and sooooooo heavy. Might have a go at using it although might need so

Yooo hooo! I'm back! Fess up, who missed me?
I tried to log in to say cheerio on Friday but we had no internet when we woke up. It was ok late on Thursday night, then completely dead the next day. Son says it's been like that all weekend. Seems ok now though so no idea what happened.
Anyway, lodge was nice, hot tub was used and peace and quiet was had. For the most part. There was a selfish git of a woman in one of the other lodges who would start 'woo wooing' at night and cackled like a witch on heat. The other posher lodges had gaming tables in them and I think she was playing. (Either that or she'd aimed the hot tub jets in particular places and was very happy about it. :rotfl:)
We mostly just lazed about and relaxed (I read 3 books, first time in ages I've had time to read). Decided to throw caution to the wind and got in the hot tub (when I thought no-one was looking:D) and ended up in there at every available opportunity. :rotfl:There were trees all round the plce and it was nice just lying outside in the tub staring up through the branches.
We had a wander round a nearby wildlife park on Sunday and had dinner in the main restaurant at the lodge place at night but other than that we did nothing and it was great.
Only small regret was we never used the sauna in our bathroom. We meant to, and got as far as turning it on but then ended up too tired and too merry to do anything other than sleep.
I'm fed up I'm home now tbh, a weekend wasn't long enough.
Will need to catch up with what's been happening but right now I need to go check our bank account online.:DHerman - MP for all!0 -
Glad your back alias:Dmy gosh that place sounds good.Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Yaay, good to have you back alias  Sounds like you had a fab time, would you recommend that place then (apart from the selfish Witchy woman)?? We are hoping to get at least one night away next month (kid-free) for our anniversary/my birthday so can't wait for that. Current thinking is maybe somewhere in Arran but that might be too expensive & full of midges??
Anyway, guess where I went tonight?!
And the answer is - Slimming World!! :j
Yep, daisy your telling off obviously struck a chord & I'm now the proud owner of a bright green folder & 'credit card' thingy, very high-tech!! :rotfl: I was amazed how many peeps were in the group actually, I expected maybe 15-20 but there were nearly 50!! So I'm going to read through all of the bumph tonight & hopefully (if it sinks in) I'll be starting tomorrow. Any advice will be gratefully received

Welcome back Alias! :j
Wow, Sweet. As they'd say in the ole U.S. of A.. "You go girl!" :T0 -
Yay for SW! Hope it works for you sweet.
I'd go back to Piperdam again but probably only either to the Muirloch Executive Lodges (2,3,8 or 9 I think) or the Forester Executive Lodges (2 or 3 I think). (Not that I'm fussy or anything. :rotfl:) The Muirlochs are for 2 peeps and the Foresters are for big groups. The others are family lodges and are closer together.
They're flipping expensive and not something we could do a lot but I would go back. There's also Forest Holiday Cabins, some say they are good too.Herman - MP for all!0 -
