alias, how do you do your fried grated cauli?? Do you fry it in oil or butter?? Any spices/seasoning??

Small knob of butter in a non stick pan, with the grated cauli chucked in. The butter melts but because it's only a little bit, it really only coats the cauli slightly, it's not like it's being fried in it iyswim, it looks dry - like there's nothing there but cauli.

I do it over a medium heat...too high and it burns quickly, too low and it just doesn't seem to cook.

Sometimes I add a wee bit of cream and grated cheese. Sometimes I add curry powder or paprika just for a change.

I don't know if you all remmeber but I used to hate salmon? Well I'm now very fond of salmon, smoked haddock and cod all dry pan fried and flaked (fish pie pack from the Co-Op or Tesco has a wee bit of all 3 in) and then mixed in with the cauli. Wee bit cream mixed through it and tis very nice and very filling.

    Morning peeps

Well done Alona :j thats a great result!

    Welcome Buzzy!

I got weighed again this morning and have lost another lb:D

I`ll soon get fed up with jumping on and off the scales though, can`t help it atm cos its a great motivator.

Brekkie today will be bacon, scramblies and mushrooms i think, there are some sausages left in the fridge but they are uncooked so i might cook em later ready for another day.

Dinner will be chicken drumsticks and snacks will be salami & cheese, think that tea may be smoked haddock.

Day off today and i`ve got tons to do.
When i shift my !!!!! from here i need to hang out the washing and then i shall have brekkie before i start in the garden, i have to move a bench which is covered in plants out of the greenhouse and then move the toms and peppers as they are all squashed together now that they`ve grown so much. Some things need planting out but i`m almost out of space so i`m not sure where it will all go. I went a bit mad planting the seeds and didn`t expect everything to grow but most of them have so i need to get organised and find places for everything.

Had a garden fire to burn hedge clippings a couple of nights ago so i need to empty the incinerator and put the ashes in the bin, hate doing that as i get covered in it all:(

Later i need to clean upstairs as its in need of a good scrub and then i should have time for a rest. I`ll probably keep popping in to see what everyones up to :D

Good luck with the garden Alias, its not too hot out there yet so a good time to start. Just been out with the dawgies and there`s a nice breeze which is lovely.

    Have a lovely day peeps.

I want scones. And jam and clotted cream. I don't have any but the urge is calling me, the baking is beckoning me :o OMG I've only been doing this for a couple of days - please tell me it's going to get better. I do worry that I am going to get sick of eating mostly meat :o

Yes it does get better, and quite quickly too.

I find that after the first four days i`m fine and then i have very slight cravings for a couple of days in the second week but as you can see the results then your willpower overcomes the cravings.

What have you been eating Bitsy? Are you following any particular type of plan or just cutting the carbs back?

Bitsy, hold strong! Don't give in! If you must have something sweet have some sugarfree jelly and cream. THis is the sugar in your system, your little addict shouting 'GIVE ME SUGAR! GIVE ME CARBS!' It's like heroin. You're going cold turkey, so you will get cravings. BUt just like any addictive substance, once you're over the nasty bit it's much easier. If you give in now, you're back to square one. You'llknock yourself out of ketosis, which can take several days to get back into, and you'll have to start cold turkey all over again.

Go for a walk in the sun, anything away from food andbaking!

Calm down love, calm down :D

Its not mostly meat, you must have vegetables and salad too, you can also have fish remember.
You can make crustless quiche, (Mercys mexican fudge) boiled eggs, cheese salad, tuna salad, salmon salad, shellfish, lc lasagne, lc chilli, lc curry (meaty i know, but you could make veggie versions) all on recipe page, you just need to be organised :)

Just had bacon and bubble and squeak, lovely, and so filling.

The veg is from a chicken dinner i made yesterday, but think it may be worth boiling up some cabbage swede and onions etc ready for a brunch, i am soo full :)

I am limiting my carbs - had no bread, no spuds and no pasta for 3 days now eek!!!!! I am still not convinced this will work - I don't "do" diets - I prefer the Paul McKenna approach and changing my eating habits. But since I am finding it near impossible to change my bad habits I thought I'd try low carb (done everything else LOL!). I do eat too much stodge - always over cook rice and pasta etc so cutting back would make sense. I eat too fast and hence end up eating more than I need.

I don't have any sugar free jelly or anything in the house, had a raw carrot and some water instead. The urge has passed for now - some of it I think is my bad eating habits of wanting a nice sweet treat.

I confess I've started drinking my green tea again but I HAVE to have it with sugar - can't stand it without. Am I going to ruin things using sugar? I am not really a fan of artificial sweetners.

Thanks Guys, I still want to lose another 25lb - sounds alot when you say it in lbs!

I've been quite strict, I've had the odd treat but made up for it on the exercise bike.

I wanted to lose another 11lb before holiday but only 3 weeks left so not gonna meet that target.

The main thing I need to do is keep up the exercise bike I think.

Try Splenda, it's the most sugar like alternative out there and is ok on a lc diet. Comes in tabs or granulated. Sugar will stall you and keep your craving going.
