Morrisons Rant!!
Comments

Our Morrisons is hidious. I go in there cos I have to. I do my big shop once a week in Sainsburys.
There is always a queue in Morrisons. I've written to HO many times about this store & never had a reply. They have hidiously rude staff.
I could go on tbh!

Dont get me started with morrisons...
The CEO of morrisons will be waking up in the morning with the following letter:
I am writing to complain about 2 incidents which have both happened at two of your stores.
The first incident happened roughly in march 2009. My wife myself and our daughter were shopping at the X store, when we were walking down the home isle. Mrs mee was 9 months pregnant, when she fell over multiple see through bead which was placed on the floor. She fell and done the splits. My wife was in so much pain after this incident that she went to see her doctor who confirmed that she had done some damage to her pelvis and was virtually unable to walk. Mrs Mee... was wheeled out of the store because she was in so much pain by a member of staff in a wheelchair. I feel that this incident could have been prevented easily as i overheard staff members mentioning that “someone has fallen over, maybe someone could have cleared the beads earlier”.
The second incident happened at the X store about 2 months ago. We were queuing to be served by a member of staff when we were asked to remove our stuff because the till next was not so busy. At this point the 2 tills were serving one customer each. The problem there was that we placed our goods on the till then got told to move to another till rudely. We then moved to another till when I decided that we did not want a joint of pork when the person on the till said “can you not afford it?” in front of other customers.
I am not a happy customer and I have vowed never to shop in Morrisons again. These incidents are just not acceptable.Helloooooooooooooo :beer:0 -
To add my tuppence to the thread, I'm not so happy with my local Morissons either - and I used to work there. When I started out it was Safeway, which was a wonderful employer. I was working through uni and I can honestly say that out of all my friends I was happiest with my job. But after 2 years Morrisons came in and it all changed - for some reason it just became an unpleasant place to work. The decent supervisors left and were replaced mostly by people somewhat akin to the one described by the OP, and as Morrisons (at the time) didn't really have a staff discount we lost one of our best benefits. And don't even get me started on the uniforms! :P Essentially I no longer liked working there, and neither did most of the people I had worked with. I left a year later and got a job with another supermarket.
Nowadays the place always seems to be understaffed, has massive queues and it seems to have an impressive staff turnover - almost every time I ask for help I get told "Sorry I don't really know, I'm new".0 -
Wow ok,well i came here to rant about the cashiers but it looks like i have not had as bad a time as some here
I think im spoilt as i usually shop at Tesco with the cashiers constantly asking whether i need any help with packing. But my local Morrisons cashiers dont want to know.I pop in there for the offers but thats it.You get to the end and are still desperately trying to pack your shopping which has been shoved at you and they already have their hands held out under your nose repeating the total and huffing if its not placed there straight away.I so nearly commented today that it would be so much more quicker if they just helped pack a few items!
I agree with the ques too, nightmare in my local most of the time.0 -
I hate Morrisons, it used to be our local supermarket (there was one across the road) and it got to the point where I refused to go in. The staff were rude, you never got a greeting, there was no effort made to talk to you, generally the only thing they would say to you was "cash back?" or "put your pin in", never a please. Even if you said thank you the most you would get was a grunt if you were acknowledged at all. The staff would be walking around talking on their mobiles, they seemed to have no knowledge of basic products, one cashier didn't know what leeks or broccoli were, they would leave rows of those metal cages down aisles and push them and ram them into your ankles. They also didn't have things like dried porcini mushrooms and never seemed to have things like parsnips. The fruit and veg I always found either went off as soon as you walked out the door or never ripened. Also the fish counter stank to high heaven which worried me, fresh fish shouldn't smell like that!
Also I've found that I'm spending less on shopping since we've been going to Sainsbury and I'm not chucking out loads of rotten fruit and veg, and I can actually find what I need.
Flickering Ember: I didn't think there was one in Hammersmith**Thanks to everyone on here for hints, tips and advice!**:D

After a trip to my local store last week I now know that the Cheakout Supervisor is going to get "sh1tfaced" on Xmas Eve and that the Cashier is trying for a baby after a collegue came over and they chatted whilst she was putting my shopping through, totally ignoring me!2013 wins: Persil Bunny0

Yes I hate it when shop staff do that talking past you thing just as if you don't exist !
Morrisons just do not deserve the custom if they think treating someone like this post stated is acceptable - the nearest supermarket for me is Asda & there service leaves alot to be desired - there was an incident I posted on here about with a rude trolley assistant & a complaint I made that resulted in my car being keyed next visit, no proof of course & their cctv was looking the other way at the time - (it would be wouldn't it) anyway I still shop there occasionally & it was packed out today massive rows of people waiting at the tills people grumbling about their frozen food defrosting, the man next to me pointed at a sign above him advertising a carry to your car service "where are the staff then" he shouted.
Just having extra staff to pack & speed things up would have been good but I guess they are only interested in taking as much money as possible for as little payout as they can.Theres only two rules to remember1) Im always right2) See rule 10 -
I also find the staff in Morrissons are quite often shockingly rude. i complained in writing last year (no reply tho') about the butchers doing that eye thing that kids do and singing "we are siamese.." at the chinese bloke who runs my local chippy. Completely indiscreet, apallingly loud, virtually (or blatantly) racist....was so upset for him, but he either didnt hear or pretended not to.
Also, last week, the security guard told my 2 year old son to shut up. Those exact words. I was totally speechless. (Someone did virtually the same on Cust Serv counter in Primark too...i know he's loud, BUT HE'S ONLY JUST TWO!!!) I got home and bawled my eyes out to my hubby.0 -
I always think everyone looks so miserable and depressed in Morrisons, customers and staff. They only ever seem to have one till open with a single sour faced cashier serving all the customers. Everything seems to be about 25%-50% more expensive than Asda.0

Whilst he probably shouldn't have said it like that you should have more control over your kid if they are shouting, it is not nice for other customers who want an enjoyable experienceAlways ask ACAS0
