Is it possible that you have already used up your 3% allowance for getting cashback on (£1500?)

    Ivan

Is it £1500 now instead of £5000?

I do have high hopes of 3% off my car insurance though, which I have recently taken out with Tesco!
Let us know whether you get 3%... I didn't on a Tesco Direct order.

Curiously enough that was one of my old posts, and I've recently chased them up about this again. My email and their reply are posted below:

Thanks, good to know they're still working on it.

No, afraid not. They stopped offering it to new applicants quite a while ago.

I am one of the fortunate few that have the card with a 3% cashback entitlement. As I don't have the T & Cs to hand does anyone know what the 3% relates to? That is, does it refer to "food" or "groceries", as well as petrol?

I'm only asking as GE Money have responded to a query I raised about the entitlement. They have stated that "A bar/restaurant may not be recognised as a place where you can buy groceries".

    Thanks

They are able to go by 'merchant codes' (like '4513') which MBNA and a number of companies use. If the code says its a grocers shop then it's grocers shop. I assume the problem you have is they don't tell you how much cashback you earn on a particular transaction (which would make like easy) but just aggregate the total 'amount earned'?
