I'd always thought that 'valid from' dates and 'issue numbers' only applied to Switch cards?
Curiously, whilst trying (and failing) to look this up I stumbled across this site:
http://www.saddler.co.uk/acatalog/index.html
which says: "If your Switch card does not have a valid from date, please enter a fictitious valid from date."!!!Stompa0 -
The latest bill has the 3% items highlighted in green so they must have updated the system after they found that everything was getting 3%.0

Mine's a bit confusing too... a good bit more than the expected 3% for green and 0.5% for everything else; but less than 3% for everything.0

Yes, I think it's because the switchover date (between all 3% and 3%/0.5%) was 18th Dec, but I had to tweak a transaction either side of that to get it to add up.Stompa0 -

NW would not accept the card because it had neither a 'valid from date' nor an 'issue number' and, the lady at NW suggests, cards have to have one or the other.
Has anybody else come across this problem?
Yes, I did have this problem when I was paying my council tax bill online a few months back. However, I get around the lack of a 'valid from date' on the card by entering in the 'mm/yy' that I received the card. This works for everything I pay online, including the water rates bill, telephone bill etc.KTF wrote:The latest bill has the 3% items highlighted in green so they must have updated the system after they found that everything was getting 3%.
Mine too. I'm pleased to see that I am still getting 3% on my purchases from 'food' retailers. As I exceeded the £5,000 3% cashback limit, it looks as though January now counts as a new GE Money cashback year. I was expecting to receive just 0.5% on all of my purchases so it isn't that bad. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -

GE money told me to use the month/year I got the card as a start date if a company or website insisted on one.0 -

I thought that if you spent >£5k on the card up to December, as I have, the you would have had 3% CB on everything, so from now on, up until the anniversary of registering the card, it’s 0.5% CB on everything.
Just phoned GE to clarify this and the lady I spoke to said that up until December all CB was paid at 3%, but only food and petrol purchases counted towards the £5k. Does everyone agree with this?
If this is true I’ll have to go through all my statements to see what was spend on food and petrol to calculate how much I’ve got to go to the (revised) £5k. Haven't had time to have a detailed look at the latest statement but was wondering if this ties in with other people’s experience.

On the original letter sending credit card it says:
Cash back will be applied at a rate of 3% to all purchases of food and fuel up to a maximum spend of £5000 per annum and thereafter at a rate of 0.5%. Cash back will be applied at a rate of 0.5% to all other Retail Purchases.
So looks as though we are all fine for 3% each year on food and fuel up to the £5K spend.0 -
I never received the Jan statement. I wasn't bothered as I ha stopped using the card an knew what the balance was.
Upon reading this, maybe I should start again just on food and petrol?
Are people saying that a new year has started, even though the cards were put into circulation in July?0
