GE '3%' Cashback Card

Just out of interest, has anybody been accepted for this card who hasn't asked for a balance transfer?0
-
Hi Jetsetuk,
I was accepted without any balance transfer!
Don't have any balances to transfer, only my Egg Money that is paid off monthly anyway!
I didn't accept CPP either and as I intend to pay entirely entirely each month and only really use for 3% cashback food shopping, they probably won't make much money out of me!
Cheers
Stevecompleted Uni in 2004 without any student debt - woohoo!0 -
Wonder if you get it for meals out? does that still count as "food" or is it a separate category?0
-
I doubt it josie
Mind you, if you think you are paying for the food when you dine out then you are deluding yourself!0 -
My first EVER rejection. Never missed a payment. I am a model (if unprofitable) customer. I don't want to post too many details but (except for the fact that I exploit 0% a little) I can't think of a single reason for them to reject me.
Hope this doesn't hurt when I need a 0% BT card next month!0 -
michaels wrote:Going slightly off topic (as they turned down both me and the missus) it seems the govt has proposed a seperate category for 'snowmobile dealers' - do you reckon they get a lot of people buying those on their credit cards?
Given the list is from the US Internal Revenue Service, not our dear own HMRC, I expect they do see a lot of snowmobile-related commerce in the northern states at least!
Not sure whether to apply for this - I'll probably be declined due to stoozing activities and I need to be able to replace some of my current 0% deals in about three months' time so don't want to risk the credit search, but 3% is tempting!0 -
My pin landed on the mat yesterday morning so hopefully the card will be here today or tomorrow0

Congratulations!
Your application for a GE Money Credit Card has been accepted.
Here's what happens from here:
1.
You will receive your PIN in the next 3 business days
2.
You will receive your new credit card under separate cover within the next 5-7 business days.
Then you'll need to make one short phone call to activate the card and you can start using it straight away.
If you have requested a balance transfer, please continue to make payments to your existing card issuers until you see your current card issuers have confirmed the transfer.
Thank you for choosing GE Money. We trust you'll find carrying the GE Money Credit Card rewarding.
All the best,

AND THEN THIS ONE AT 9:15 YESTERDAY
Thank you for your online application for a GE Money Credit Card.
We’re sorry, but after reviewing your application details, we are unable to open an account for you at this time.
We’ll write to you explaining how we made our decision. This letter will also tell you how to obtain a copy of the details that we received from either Experian or Equifax, the two credit reference agencies.
If you feel that we should re-consider your application please write to: GE Money Appeals Department, Postal Underwriting, PO box 700, Leeds, LS99 2BD
Please be assured that this simply means that on this occasion you have not met the criteria we need to offer you a card. You won’t necessarily be refused credit elsewhere, or with GE Money in the future.
Our decision and all application details will remain completely confidential.
Regards
A. Dalton

Do they even know what they're doing?
Hi Bluetonic - I had exactly the same experience, although I got the reject email before the successful application one. I'm just watching the letterbox to see if they send me a PIN and card!

How long between messages? Is there hope for mine?0 -
I've just been accepted for this card.:j I applied over the phone and was instantly accepted with the biggest credit limit I've had to date. I am good at paying off my credit cards and always clear the balance each month, but I'm still surprised to have been accepted so quickly. I haven't applied for a credit card for nearly two years, so I guess that may have something to do with it.
This card is going to be a real improvement on my existing Morgan Stanley Mastercard, currently paying 1% up to £2K and 0.5% thereafter. Please call me 'Kazza'.0
