Well I got the number for the appeals department - 0870 124 2475

It is just a recorded message telling me that if I want to appeal I have to follow the advice of the leaflet "in store". No correspondence will be entered into if you do not submit a copy of your credit report.

Phoned the complaints number (0870 126 2665) and her first piece of advice was to ring Experian and ask them why I was declined. I told her that my Equifax and Experian reports just have my electoral roll data and my credit card data. I was put on hold and when she came back she said the department was " a bit behind" and I had "done the best thing" and "just to wait."

    Card also arrived today :T

@buses7675 - The credit limit is mentioned on the same tearoff section that the card was glued to.
    Account No: xxxxxxxx
    Credit Limit: xxxxxx
    Date: xxxxx
    No of Card Enclosed: xxxxxxx

Gave me a £2.5K credit limit, which isn't a real problem as I'll clear the balancd each month.

Mine arrived today too - once again a good week or so after the PIN. Now need to find out how to add a second user!

Decadent Fool - yes, I rang them a little after 8pm on the off chance and got through pretty much straightaway. I activated the card, set up a DD for full amount (it was offered as a choice) and ordered a second card. All very straightforward!

Hehe, well I got offered a second cardholder but no dd! Was told I'd need to speak to customer services.

Anyway, glad you got the second cardholder :)

I have a feeling that GE might operate some store cards and so perhaps the "in store" refers to this.

    I shredded my letter.
Can someone with the letter confirm the appeals procedure as I didn't send my credit report.

This is a very difficult card to obtain. I have a faultless credit record and still no acceptance. I asked at GE Money for any clues as to why I was rejected and they just refered me to Experian. I already have a recent copy of my credit record so I am 99.9% certain it has little to do with the rejection. I would suggest that GE Money are actually looking for people who may not have a perfect credit record as this would mean they could claw back some of the money they pay as 3% rebate back in potential late payment fees and balance interest charges.
