I :smileyheamy postie & the guy on the van - they both know I have a 6 week old baby so always give me a good few mins and wait for me to answer the door instead of putting card thru after 10secs like the used to. I get about 5 parcels a week and they always take the time to ask how we are & will bring big parcels in the house if I have babe in arms!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

I have to speak in defence of my regular postie too - he often signs for items for me and leaves them through my garden gate (which I lock) so the item is relatively safe.
I was told by the postie at work that my postie could lose his job for doing that though, as it was fraud and taken very seriously.
Obviously, I am very grateful for my postie saving me the time of having to go to the sorting office - and I wouldn't want him to lose his job over helping me out. (even though I've never asked him too)Why does nobody say Thank You anymore??:mad:Debt Free as of September 2011 :jSealed Pot 2009 number 334 - £100 Saved! yey!!Sealed Pot 2010 number 334 - £116.51 Saved! i regularly get the "sorry you were out" cards put through the letter box and on more than one occasion ive seen the driver get out of the van with the card already written out, put it through the letterbox and drive off with no attempt to deliver the parcel,WWSD(what would Scooby Doo)0

Same here, I work from home, and am constantly having to go to the sorting office to pick up my parcels as the dreaded card is left in my postbox, occasionally there is a new postie, on what I imagine is training, and voila I get a buzz on the door and a parcel.....but I am talking about once a year.....have written several letters to Royal Mail asking them what their policy is on delivery of parcels, unfortunatley have had either none or a letter that could do with a going over with "spell check", with diplomatic drivel.
Have given up on recorded deliveries too....but I'll leave that for another time....0 -
Have to say, we get an excellent service from our local posties.

I have to say I've never had a problem - though if I did the sorting office is only at the end of my street, so wouldn't be too catastrophic.
One thing though, I'm disabled and find myself having to rush to the door in time, and sometimes stumble, do you think it'd be worth putting some kind of sign up saying I might take a few minutes longer to get there, or would they just not bother waiting?Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.0 -
