Same here, just finishde watched on ITV.com with DH and we loved every minute of it! DH commented that we are already doing all these things (it is true except for the chickens and the roadkill!).

If anyone was wondering how those people did not realise about their spending I think this is because this has been the "normal" accepted way of being so far, living on credit and spending without thinking.

I know that the recession has brought a lot of misery to so many families and I am really sorry for them, but at least one good thing that has come out of it is the highlighting of the need for more thrift. I just hope that this trend continues once the economy settles again.

    Would LOVE an OS roadshow!
Finally I'm an OAP and can travel free (in London at least!).

If anybody REALLY wants a recipe for fox, i remember there is one in "AYear in Provence", the book by Peter Mayle.
NB it seems even the French, who are known to eat nearly anything, balk at fox.
Personally i don't have a pan big enough.

Its very kind of you but please don't encourage them! Funnily enough I was watching Charley Boorman last night, can't remember where he was, but he was offered dog and ate a bit to be polite but said it was awful especially as he has a dog.
  • I enjoyed the show, but it was too short! I would love to see a regular series like this on tv again. In the eighties there used to be a show on BBC daytime telly called Bazaar. It had all sorts of tips on every week and there was one lady I remember who featured on the programme quite regularly, her husband had been made redundant and she used to give great tips on how she got by running her household on very little while he was trying to find work. There was even a cookbook to go with the series I seem to remember. It was a very popular show.
  • I've just watched the prog  I now must confess that I'm not on it; never was; didn't apply :o

Several people have asked me which was me, so no idea where the idea came from, but sorry for all those looking :o

There are pics of me (one with the lovely Huw Edwards :smileyhea ) on MSE, if you look carefully :D

I used to like an afternoon programme called 'Houseparty' (1970's) with Ann Ladbury and Muriel somebody (the journalist with dark hair ) - that was full of sewing tips, cookery etc.
