  • well done everyone :) Im terribly gutted, i was sposed to be on showing people how easy it is making wine but i've been very poorly so had to gracfully bail out ;,(
didnt know you was doing it pen pen! I've not watched it yet, got the sky+booked for sunday night 2.55am so can watch it monday x
  • I agree with everyone who has said that we need more of this sort of programme on TV . Much better than the other boring formats of reality TV

It would help so many people I think .Its all very well putting on 'celebrity cheffy type programmes but what's really needed to help folk are bog-basic cooking shows that help folk make the most of what they have in store ,not 'Lets take this 16 ozs rump steak that we just happen to have lying uselessly in the fridge.More a case of 'Here's a pound of mince lets see what we can do to feed the family with it that won't have them groaning 'Oh no not mince and tatties again. My kids used to say I had a 1001 winning ways with mince .What I couldn't do with it back in the 1970s was nobodys business.cookery it seems is not taught much in schools anymore and the days of Mum or Granny showing you how its done are long gone .Granny is probably off in Majorca with a toy boy, and Mum is probably running ICI whilst bringing up the kids and hoovering and changing the beds at the same time.
The green Granny was great and a bit more ordinary common sense cooking and tips to help folk of all ages would be brilliant.
We are lucky on here as we know where to go if we need a bit of advice and help but not everyone knows of this site so ladies .and any spare Gents out there spread to word and see if we can get even more folk on the MSE bandwagon.Thats an idea ,how about a 'road show ,they seem popular in the big shopping centre.Everyone likes to watch folk cook and a few roadshow type of things would bring the OS message to the people

omg  - I work for our local Housing Trust and they specified the installation of water-butts (collecting the water draining from the rear guttering via the downspout) as part of the plans for our Sheltered Scheme. The idea being that tenants can water their gardens with 'free unmetered water'.

Just finished watching this on the iplayer, thought it was fantastic. Well done to everyone brave enough to go on TV! Wish ti had been longer than an hour though :)

I remember 'Trade Secrets', which I think used to be on at lunchtime for 10 minutes or so every day, which was quite similar. Wish they would bring it back

I  Martin. He is my hero :D So enthusiastic!
