  • In our store they are put back in the same place. I would assume this will be the same in other stores. Without going into too much detail - each item in the store belongs in a certain section and has a certain location within that section. The location is a specific position on a specific shelf. Sometimes we have stock come in and are not sure where it goes, we can scan the barcode on our computer and it brings up which section and location the item belongs in and that is where we have to put it. HTH

My local store don't bother with a shelf anymore lol they dump it at the front by the tills goes quicker than the online stock

So you and your Husband work. Well fortunately myself and my wife work too, but I'd love to see what your attitude would be if you were 4 months behind on the mortgage payments, both lost jobs and had 3 children to get Christmas presents for. You CANNOT generalise. Okay some may be greedy. Some may be really poor. It may also be that others are willing to pay the price rather than having the hassle spending hours looking for low stock items.

At the end of the day, all ebayers selling Go Go Hamster Stock are taking advantage of the demand and in it for a massive profit - fact!

Whether they are poor, greedy whatever, they are making a mint and exploiting the vunerability of parents trying to meet their childrens xmas wishes.

Oh and btw, been there and done that with the redundancy, mortgage payments, the childrens presents to buy etc so don't tell me you'd love to see what my attitude would be because it was the same then and it's the same now.

All ebayers/other sellers are making a huge profit - end of!

Well it takes all to make the world. Personally if I was 4 months in arrears with my mortgage, just lost my job and had 3 kids, I'd do exactly the same. That isn't condoning other ebayers who are just greedy. Like I say - it all depends on your circumstances!!

Yes, it does take all and what a boring world it would be if we were all the same ;)

    I agree stebiz.
IN REAL LIFE jollierose would be selling whatever at whatever price just to make sure her house isnt repossessed and her kids dont become homeless.

I would respect that. Lets not pretend she wouldnt do it

I shouldn't think that they are making more than £10 a hamster, even if they sell well. Then there's the hassle of buying them in the first place, going to the PO and all the rest of it. I certainly couldn't be arsed with it.

  • The ebay situation doesn't irritate me I see them as providing a service,in a strange way I like the idea that I can get pretty much anything 24/7 sometimes a bargain sometimes at a high price, I don't work and have struggled finding stuff, if I worked fulltime I wouldn't bother I'd do a days overtime in a nice warm office and use the cash to pay the difference over the RRP and let the sellers trawl the shops for weeks and sit glued to a lappy.

Exactly. Demand > Supply = Huge profits. Very basic demand and supply really. Who wouldn't try and take advantage? If I'm the one that physically drives around, makes the phone calls and keeps on the ball to source the products, then too right I'm going to sell them for as much as I can!

I really do love Xmas. :j
