You really need to take each one of these on a case by case basis. I mean how do you know that this guy, or somebody on ebay, hasn't just been made redundant and are trying to raise money for their families Christmas!! The truth is we don't.

So if I or my dh gets made redundant, we start ripping people off - eh i don't so. Raising cash is all about selling your unwanted items, handmaking items to sell etc,.
Yes, you are right, we don't know what circumstances the seller's are in however nearly always the majority of them are out there to make a mint - they always have and they always will sadly.0 -
my word. I can't believe we have wittered on about these vermin for 700 pages worth!!! I am sure we will find this funny in weeks to come, or maybe months to come! lol:xmastree:0

Im in the lucky position that ive got my hammy stuff weeks ago thanks to all the help on here - I can see that a lot of people are still struggling and are a little grumpy in the endless search - was just offering a cheap alternative bit of fun - better odds than lottery - The guys feedback will get hammered for sure but I guess he didnt think just in it for a quick buck - but as one poster pointed out he aint got 20 grand sat in the bank if hes willing to go to such efforts - so good luck to him.
You're right, I am grumpy!
However, on the subject of the raffle we'll agree to disagree!Went to the paper shop - it had blown away.0 -

I don't agree. There are a portion of sellers that are there to exploit people, but the majority don't. I think it's more a case of people getting desperate and believing they need something so much they don't care what they pay. look at what people pay for concert tickets!!! it's obscene. it drives me insane what people spend - and a lot of the reason is lazyness. can't be bothered to source things themselves.
not always the case, before I get jumped on, but it is sometimes the case.:xmastree:0 -

I guess what I was trying to say was, we really pay what things are worth to us at the time we buy on ebay.
We can always say no, and walk away. THAT way, people won't be able to exploit so much because the market won't be as strong. WE make the demand, which in turn controls the free supply. We have to remember that !lol:xmastree:0 -

So you and your Husband work. Well fortunately myself and my wife work too, but I'd love to see what your attitude would be if you were 4 months behind on the mortgage payments, both lost jobs and had 3 children to get Christmas presents for. You CANNOT generalise. Okay some may be greedy. Some may be really poor. It may also be that others are willing to pay the price rather than having the hassle spending hours looking for low stock items.

Looks like I missed an interesting evening (from the posts I have been trying to catch up on - and have now given up on as this thread keeps expanding!!)
Let me get this straight - Wilko's had hammies, someone bought 11 to sell on Ebay, someone else sold something somewhere else for something else or, erm, something like that??
I'm starting to feel like Arnold Schwarzenegger in that film, 'Jingle all the Way'
Hahaha!Cheer up. The worst is yet to come - Mark Twain0
