Perhaps you could give us a link to these terms.

I can understand ebay extending auctions that are still running, or refunding sellers fees on things that didn't sell etc etc.. but an auction finishing is an auction finishing! If a seller feels they are entitled to compensation then they have to take it up with Ebay. It's not the buyer in good faith's fault!
