Thank you all for your advice. Totally deflated now after my great moment's excitement and couldn't be bother searching any more. Hope you other hamster buyers have luck with your hunt. Off to watch X-Factor that I taped from earlier (in the hope everyone would be watching it and not hamster hunting!!)

My local Wilkinsons had the price ticket on the shelf edge for hamsters the other day but an empty shelf. Not sure on accessories though. May be worth a trip later in the week??

yes apparently ebay can. read the ebay rules on this. its ebays fault so they have to rectify it with both sellers and buyers and dont forget ebay loose both ways because you pay to list and they get a large % of sale and the paypal fees as well. many sellers are copying all the outage as proof so they may not "be obliged to honour" as the site failed them and its in the sellers contract about if this happens extentions can be doen and it may apply to all auctions globally not just in the uk, its a huge problem. ebay.com already has an outage notice on.
