crumbs just googled go go hamsters and have you seen the prices amazon are charging versus character or woolies etc:eek: woolies only seems to have the hamsters no add ons can I ask a very silly question a regular hamster cadge and the plastic toys they sell that you see at every charity shop car boot sale would they not do? Does it have to be the specific go go hamster pieces?

Just ordered mine from there - they're not in stock but anticipate a 1-2 week wait. Well in time for Christmas...

Don't know what you ordered, but everyone gets their orders via Character as sole UK Importer & Distributor, so everyone should have their stock now, except for the playsets that are expected in Mid-November.

If you ordered anything else with a wait, then you may want to check with them that they are 100% confident of delivery. Loads of people are cancelling with Play either because they cant get hold of them or because they pick it up elsewhere to guarantee it.

Of course, Play are based in Jersey, so perhaps they get their stock a little behind other stores, but I would have thought that they had everything (except the extra playsets and a possibility of more funhouses) by now.

I would be skeptical of any more claims of 'stock expected ...' and advise you to follow up and post here with what they say to help other MSEers decide.

I say this as an affiliate and get to hear a lot and work closely with Character to see/hear what is going on, though not always everything, but I do typically see loads of cancelled Play orders for these items.

For me, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush.

  • Oh dear peeps why the bad feelings??

I have been posting and following this thread from the begining and have appreciated everyones contributions whether its been general hamster chat or a stock alert.

I do not think for 1 second that MM is anyway connected to any of the shops as she is giving us info about all of them not biased towards any 1. I just think she is working from home etc and is filling in time with this hamster obsession and also sharing this info with us. :T I can admit that i get obbsessive about these trends too and cant stop until i have the whole set :o

Also the go go hamsters are not a new frenzy. These have been marketed as the no 1 Christmas toy since August that i can remember. There has been stock shortage since August too. I think the only reason it seems like a frenzy now is Christmas is coming and we are all trying to get it all now before there is no chance of buying it next month unless you pay the stupid prices on EBay and Amazon marketplace.

I have been lucky enough to have the complete set for my 3dd's to share with a hamster, bed and carrier each. I was tempted the other day to buy more for re-sale on EBay but i dont think it is worth the hassle after the EBay / Paypal fees plus i dont feel i could make money out of other mummys like myself just trying to buy the latest craze for my children but i wouldnt think badly of those who do go down the EBay route. Each to their own i suppose

I have been naughty tho and brought a set (hamster room with UTube and mini playball) and Hamster called Biscuit from USA EBay which you cant get in the UK yet. Someone posted on here the other evening about it :D

The playsets have little notches inside, when the hamster runs over them it triggers sound effects to its surroundings, ie. house has bathroom, hamster makes teeth brushing and toilet flushing sounds (so I'm told lol) it also triggers the whoops of excitement when going on slide etc. Also the ball comes with a stabiliser to stop hamster tipping over so a normal hamster ball would not work. Hope this helps.

I'm very grateful to everyone who has posted in this thread, both with stock alerts and little gems of information like the benefits of smooth Go Go balls over real hamster balls, LOL! It was a gem I shared in the school playground just yesterday!
I've been lucky enough to get most of the stuff I wanted plus stuff that 3 friends wanted so we are all very grateful.
And I've been naughty too and got some stuff coming from Ebay US that isn't available here.

Thanks for this - have cancelled order and gone with a PlayTrade buyer with a decent feedback score. Doing it as a 'nice to have' for nephew so don't want hassle of Play messing around and not delivering until January!

I think we've established that there is no bad feeling towards MM or any poster in particular by now and we all know to be careful about posting about anything that could be construed by mods as trading - don't want this thread closed down ;)
