    Bas****s!!!

Just to let people know that we had Swags n Sashes booked to do our wedding yesterday (4th Sept) and we only found out that we had problems when our venue rang at 12 noon to say that no-one had turned up to decorate the place, our wedding was at 1pm!!!

Thankfully our venue staff drove to a local supplier and bought lots of gear and did it themselves and in time, and to there credit it was awesome, really beautiful.

The part that gets my goat is that they sent their final demand last week, which we paid, as before that point we had regular emails and phone calls from an 'Alex' telling us that all was well and that was their procedure regarding payment!!

Luckily we have wedding insurance which may cover us, but i'm not too sure what else we can do to get a refund, so please anyone with advice please help!!:(

B*****Ds indeed!! Really sorry to hear you had this trouble, but well done to your venue who deserve much praise! :T
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:

No problem! Quite mixed reviews there, but it looks like the people who are worried haven't had their wedding yet. The ones that have, are praising the company.

If you can hold out, then I'd advise waiting a bit then looking again for some more reviews when people have actually had their day x
I would be very wary of this company we booked them for my sons wedding on the 4th sept and at first they were very helpful until we paid the full balance then all communications stopped despite many efforts by us to contact them . There phone line had been disconected and my son even drove to their premisis to find it closed and efforts to contact the director personally failed as the address we were given said they never heard of them. This caused us great distress 2 weeks before the wedding and i had to do all the decorations myself which went very well no thanks to them we have repeatly tried to contact them and now they have left us no choice but to take legal action . I hope you have better luck than us .
  • Sorry to inform you, but Swags & sashes have gone into Liquidation !

Recent bride obviously did not have a good experience with them as they went into liquidation straight after they took the balance owed to them. Needless to say they did not turn up & supply anything for wedding either. Chair covers, starlight, all her flowers, bouquets, table plan. Need I say more !
    Morning all.
Just wondered if anyone had any experience with 'Swags and Sashes' located in Westcliff Essex?
They seem unbelievably cheap ( chair covers including sash at £1.75 ) along with other great priced stuff. I've been emailing the woman in charge, Charlie, and she seems so friendly and helpful.
I'm just a little worried about quality, standard and whether they are reliable at those prices. I feel really horrible asking as they may just genuinely be nice, honest people offering a great deal.....but you can never be too careful!!
Can't really fins any reviews on the net so thought I'd put it to you guys!
    Muchos thanks!!
  • Sorry but Swags & sashes have gone into liquidation.

They were due to supply lots of items for a bride also on the 4th September, and didnt. Especially as they also paid the full balance.

All you can do is pass the word around, I am quite sure you will not be the only ones.

  • Blimey, Swags & sashes have been busy, seems like they took on quite a few weddings all for the same date, and of course after everyone had paid them the full balance too. Luckily you have taken out wedding insurance,

They have gone into liquidation though :(
  • Sorry to inform you but, I honestly cannot see them supplying anything as they have gone into liquidation now. If you log onto their website and go to their contact page, all addresses and contact numbers have been removed, just with the quote that they have gone into liquidation. So I very much doubt you will be able to get them now, really sorry.

Oh !!!!!!! I wish I had read this sooner! We have booked with them as they were the only ones free at short notice (after being let down by another company).
I'm going to be panicking for 6 weeks now!

For goodness sake you're just posting the same thing one after the other. Please be quiet now.
