I've already told her we need to watch how much energy we're using as prices are going up. But I dont think it went in very far.

I might say to her I've written up a list, so she doesnt think I'm doing her over in any way, with each item broken down.
    So gas £20
    Elec £20
Water (we have to pay two different companies here £20
    Council tax £50
    Sky £10
Contribution to land line for receiving calls only £5

I'll tell her its her choice about the landline but if she doesnt then she simply doesnt take calls on it. Her family can call her mobile lol

I would have a word now but she appears to be hiding in her bedroom, the lights are off but I know she's in there!

I think you should have one of these!

Seriously though, about your flatmate, the only way to deal with it is to sit down and have a friendly chat about it. Be prepared for her to come up with stuff she's not happy about too though, these things are always difficult. Don't do what a friend of mine did though which was to sort out all her difficulties with her flatmate by text. It only caused more problems...

  • Why do they always disappear when you want to talk to them?

Then reappear when you're talking to yourself whilst washing up!

Hope it goes well - you can do it!

    woohoo!

    Happy days.............well day at least.

Saw flatmate this morning and politely asked for bill money £120, she said no problems, sorry for being late etc.

Then she popped into my work and asked if i was ok, and mentionned that her friend thinks i dont like her! so told flatmate is nowt personal but because she's around a fair bit and I dont really know her, I have to hide away, and cant really do what i might want to do in my own home, and that i dont think she realises how much noise they sometimes make!

And she was mortified! Apparently it didnt even enter her head about noise! But I think she understands. Said she was really sorry and will try and think a bit more, but she's just not used to having to control things like that because she used to do it to wind her mum up, and its just habit now.

So it all seems fine. Shes away for the weekend so ive got the flat to myself and £120 in my pocket :)

Thanks all for the kind words and encouragement to face my demons xx

Well done you! See, not as bad as you feared.

Not just your demons. Very few people like that sort of thing.
