    Happy day for me today!

Havent left the house, got dressed into my cleaning rags (defo' cant leave the house in those!)

I've completely cleaned the kitchen, including shining my sink a la FlyLady, washing up (obv!) all the surfaces, hob and *SPECIAL APPLAUSE HERE PLEASE*
    The OVEN!!!!!

Its a horrid job but its got to be done, and now its done! So Im sadly impressed with myself for that, plus two lots of laundry.

Also started last night a paper chronicle (diary really) of my debt free journey. Because after this how thing is done, I plan on keeping it, as a momento and who knows maybe one day it'll get published!

LOL only joking, I just think it would be a keep sake for myself to remind me of my younger years and where my stupidity and emotional insecurities got me and took me. And then the power of one's self to pull yourself up by your knicks and get yourself out of it.

Hopefully by the end of 2007 it will be finished and I'll actually be debt free!
    No actually not hopefully

By the end of 2007 I will be debt free.

I'd add at this point my current version of DF for myself doesnt include my loan as I cant over pay on it, and by the time I've got enough to settle it, the penalty charged for that privilege will end up costing me more, iyswim!

Havent spent a penny today, got dinenr lined up and just waiting for the kitchen to recover from the blitz before I start on that.

Tomorrow................. alas the end of the year, and to be honest I will hug and kiss 2006 goodby with a tear in my eye and a smile on my lips.

Its taught me so much its unbelievable! I found this site, shook myself and took stock, had a rough six months and came to Xmas with a happy heart. So I can honestly say I think that 2007 will be my year. I'm actually going to make it my year!

And to continue with the soppiness (sp?/is it a word?)
    I love you all..........
and you all have a very special place in my heart, even those lurkers who pop up every once in a while and make this diary not only worthwhile for my own personal reasons but for the wider reaches.

Wishing you all a very Happy New Year

    The resolutions appear tomorrow

  • Hi CAFCGirl,

Good luck with all your resolutions, and best wishes for a happy new year!

Yours was one of the first diaries I read on this forum and while I haven't started my own (yet...), I have found it really inspiring, well written and hugely emotional - I've been rooting for you. Your diary was one of the hooks here that made me come back again... and again... and again... before I plucked up the courage to start joining in.

I have a great feeling about 2007 as well. This year has felt like a bit of a 'stepping stone' sort of year for me, I've had a lot of learning from all over the place, and done a lot of reflecting. 2007 will be time for action! I've discovered the 7 habits of highly effective people through work and can't recommend it highly enough, it sits well with the FlyLady principles (which I also discovered this year). For me, 2005 was a horrible year, 2006 has been a bit of an epic journey, and 2007 is all set to be amazing, I'm starting to feel like I've become a grown up at last (and I'll be 30 in April :rotfl: ).

Congratulations on how far you've come, and please keep us informed on your progress into 2007.

    Wow!

Thanks Nevada, that actually brought a tear to my eye. I'm so glad you've kept coming back to the site and that my diary has gone some way to calling you back!

2006 was, for me, a year of self awareness
2007 is, for me, my year of self discovery!

No doubt I'll face more trials and tribulations in the coming months and years but thanks to this site and everyone on it I feel I've finally got what it takes to get where I want to be, and to get my kind of happiness on my terms!

£2.40 today on lunch as I'd completely forgotten I was working till about half 9!Ah well.

Lovely bosses also let us close half an hour early as it was so quiet in the shop today!

Spending tonight at home on my joneses and not really too bothered about that. Flatmate and assorted friends are staying here the night and theyre all off out. I was invited but dont really have the money and dont really want to lol!

Also discovered £10 in £2 coins in till at work so I swapped my £10 note for them..... and something else to add to the terramundi!

Aiming for a decent run of low/no spenders this week, especially till about 3rd which is when my bank acc will balance itself out and show me exactly how much money I've got left after all the bills etc.

Im sure I'll be back later on tonight with the resolutions....

    Well Gang,

I am the happiest little MSE bunny today!
Despite being pretty happy and resigned to not going out last night, I did!

My flatmate and her friends, and I had a wicked time! And even better I didnt spend a single penny.Didnt buy a drink all night and my flatmate paid for my ticket, but I think I'll pay her bck, even tho she said no!

Im glad I went, saw the BF in town and his eyes were popping! I looked hot! lol, and I think its put a thought into his head........:)

Anyway just to wish everyone a Happy New Year, I'm off to kick the stragglers out of my house!!!!

    xx

Just discovered your diary - good reading! 2006 was the year I found this site too and it has really changed the way I think about the money that I spend. Looking forward to hearing how you get on. Do you know how I can subscribe to a thread? And I started my own debt diary off but I can't find a way to get back to it easily without trawling through pages of other threads. Any ideas?

oooooooooooooh crikey you're talking to the most un-technical person here.

You can always do a forum search (top of screen) for your diary title and it should find it....

Maybe another of my diary readers can let us know!!!!???

Look forward to reading your diary too and hearing how things go with you! <Maybe I'll pick something up that I'd never thought of and vice versa!

You may well! I figured it out - I just need to bookmark my thread - doh! Third NSD for me in a row! One success in an otherwise uneventful day. You don't just pay the price of debt - you pay the price of drinking too much by feeling rough.

Well heres the resolutions for this year:

No.1 : Reach current version of DF (its for my emotional being) of being card clear! Snowballed so should be possible within 9 months easy!!!!
No.2 : Move house. Lovely as my flat has been, its time to be a fully fledged grown up, with furniture that matches!
No.3 : Love my body for the temple that it is. I.E Much healthier lifestyle all round exercise, and healthy food

    Now those are the goals.
In order to achieve those, I need to be better at:
Budgetting esp for the house move
    Meal Planning
    Organisation of account
    More proactive

And so those are my resolves!

    Heres to 2007!!!
    I salute you xx
