I have sent FP from Halifax Reward account to LTSB only last week, same day, one for £1000. then one within minutes for £500.
I tried sending same day but it rejected it and would only let me set it up for tomorrow. It hinted at the 3 day schedule but I hope it will go same day.
You should be able to do an instant transfer between the halifax accounts. I don't think there is currenly a restriction on whether that counts.
Thanks for reminding me of that, I was going to try that first!
  • Hmm, seems the early implementation of the new rules is in full swing.

I applied for a new Reward Account online few days ago, got it no probs. Just rung up to get my (joint) High Interest current account changed to R.A. no probs. But they wouldnt let me change my old Cardcash account into a reward as i already had 1 joint and 1 sole Reward and that was the limit. Offered me an Ultimate (course they would) or standard CA but said no to another Reward despite my gentle persuasion. Gits.

Well my wife has a sole RA now so we have 3 between us. £15 a month free is not that bad. Was hoping for 2 sole each and a joint but looks like not happening. Might chuck another application in online and see what happens!

Still, free money that wasnt mine before for little effort. We like!

I'm an existing Halifax online customer, applied for my first Reward account last Saturday and was accepted immediately.

Decided to bite the bullet and applied for my 2nd tonight and have been accepted.

Have litterally just been accepted on my 3rd application.

They are definately still accepting applications through online banking!

It's more likely because the Cardcash Account (a basic account for 16-17 year olds) cannot be converted to a Reward Account or any other type of account.
You will need to apply if you want one more Reward Account.

Yes very true, this is my 'keeper account' as ive had it for the last 15 years (always good to show you are a loyal customer!) but they still wouldnt let me open another new reward account on the phone. As above though, i applied for another one online this evening and it has been "accepted" (i have new bank account details) although it is currently waiting application decision.

I spoke to a manager in the call centre tonight because the first person I spoke to thought that it is not possible to have more than one reward account in your sole name.

I gave him the references in their T & Cs (that I got from my first application) that state you can have 3 accounts until 1 November 2009. The manager said that they had been 'trained' not to offer these for the last few weeks.

He then proceeded to try to offer me a credit card and the Ultimate Reward Account. I must have had to tell him 5 times that I was not interested in any other products but to give him his due he kept trying.

After we got back onto the Reward Account (after 10 mins of hard sell) he stated that I would have better luck if the account was funded (i.e. the £100 is in the account). So I will get the missus to pay that in and then put in another application online.

I will make the applications to make sure I meet the pre 1 November deadline and then appeal if necessary.

We managed to open another 2 accounts today (3 in total) in branch. We took a copy of the terms and conditions into the branch and after about 30 mins of checking with the call centre/head office it was agreed that they would comply with their t & cs. However we were given the usual guff about it being possible to only open 1 account.

Interestingly we were told in branch it is best to never use the call centre because they are rude and unhelpful.

Imagine that, branch telling you not to use the call centres, and bring all those lovely sales to them. Of course they are going to say that, how would they meet target otherwise?

Personally I wouldn't take advice from a commission hungry member of branch staff who makes a sweeping generalisation about a very large part of HBOS's Retail Operation.
Anything I post is my opinion, so from time to time I may be wrong. I try to provide answers based in fact, however I don't know everything, so (like all posters on MSE), take what I say with a pinch of salt.

Maybe that's the case, however in the past week all we have experienced are the call centre staff being obstructive, difficult and in two instances downright rude. I recognise 3 calls is a very small sample size.

I really wish our experience to date with the call centre had been different.
