Keep up the good work Kellylea! :T
I was the same, keptspending money and never had a clue what on. I'm more careful now and we eat so much better.
My hubby went to put the bins out and when he came back in he said next door's bin was full of empty boxes of frozen convenience meals. He said 'How can they eat so much muck' - got him trained now too, thanks MSE! :cool:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

What a lovely post! I adore this site and have always felt so welcomed and supported here. It has opened my eyes to a new way of life too and I am now doing things with my days that I never thought I would (like sock monkeys). My family and myself have benefited so much from all your advice. Thank you everyone!Taking responsibility one penny at a time!0

It was a lovely post to read. I've always cooked from scratch and had good lifeskills re mending, making things, etc (not that i've always been good with money because I used to be TERRIBLE!!!!!!) but it doesn't matter how much you think you know, you can always learn something new on here. I've picked up all sorts of little tips & bits of advice and afterwards I've though 'that's brilliant, why didn't I think of that?' but we can't think of everything, we're all living busy lives, sorting out ours & often other people's problems too, and this forum does feel like a community of people who love to help and learn from each other. Redundancies are looking likely at work and at least if the worst happens, it's happening now and not when we had lots of debt & were spending money like water. Lovely to read such a positive post x2025's challenges: 1) To fill our 10 Savings Pots to their healthiest level ever
2) To read 100 books (36/100) 3) The Shrinking of Foxgloves 8.1kg/30kg

It is so good to read such a happy ,positive post.It is a wonderful forum-I can't believe the wealth of information you can find on here-I tell my family you can find the answer to everything on MSE,though I don't often stray from the OS board-I wouldn't find time to do anything else.:rotfl:
As someone else said,I did know how to cook from scratch ,I could sew etc etc, just lost my way a bit,but having found OS about 18mths ago we've saved loads and I'm right back into it-its a very satisfying way of life I find.
You are doing really well, and at such a young age(don't mean to sound patronising)Keep up the good work.:jI wish I'd kept to OS principles from being your age,I'd be a lot better off.;):heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
