You've all changed my life :)

I've just been thinking how different my life was just a month or so ago. Ready meals every night through the roof shopping bills and mounds of debt increasing and becoming unmanagable.

I'm currently sitting in my living room feeding my baby boy his home made pasta. We've got two weetabix cakes baking in the oven one with cherrys linseed and sultanas for me and oh and one with no sugar and a mashed banana and sultanas for my little boy.

I've got the beginings of a pie simmering on the hob for tea with extra to be frozen for next week.

I've done an online monthly shop and have my storecupboard bursting with amazing ingredients begging to be turned into delicious healthy homemade food that I actually enjoy. I love popping in my local butchers and green grocers for the little things I need instead of walking into tesco and spending 60 pound on things I didn't even mean to get.

My debt is decreasing and there's no scary people knocking on my door anymore.

I'm just so happy and content being at home and finding the free things in life. Did I mention i'm just a wee 22 year old.

My lovely other half thinks he has died and gone to heaven with the constant supply of puddings and a happy girlfriend.

All of this started when I stumbled upon this site.

I have one addiction which is getting onto this forum to read all the threads every day haha. It's just a huge source of knowledge which so many people can benefit from.

So thank you very very much from my little family! x x x

Well done you, Kellylea! There is something intrinsically satisfying about cooking from scratch, and when you see the amount you save, it's just great!

This forum is full of lovely people, who are always friendly and helpful and not at all judgemental.

Thank you for a lovely post. You go, girl!

  • Good for youKellylea.
Since I have been off work on long term sick, I have started cooking from scratch and making lots of homemade soups, casserolles, bread etc.
I love feeding my family nice homemade meals and there's always some homemade cake or pie on the go.
It really is a lovely site to visit and I like references to other useful sites too.
Like you, I am addicted to it and can always find something useful to try so as to save the pennies and be less wasteful.
    Good luck.
I wish I had been able to access this site when I was in my 20's.
I'm in my 50's but can feel the difference this inspirational site makes to me and my family.
