Anyone know if Microsoft are likely to restart the student Win 7 Pro Upgrade for £30 deal? Currently they're only doing Office themselves and leaving Windows to the resellers.
  • Jamp - as I recall that was an introductory offer, available pre-release
I guess £39 is too much?

    DBError,

It has been available since release, I did the email verification in July ish but didn't actually need it then. I think the email fell victim to a clean-up a month or so ago, I don't suppose it would work now anyway.

£39 (plus "transaction fee" pfft!) is a good deal too of course, it's just annoying when I missed out on getting it for a tenner less.

    Cheers anyway.

Be warned Digitalriver are pants, steer clear of them, tell your friends about this. They ought to be boycotted.

I had no problems with them.

If you've got a valid student email address (or are staff, I think) you can get Windows 7 and some Office packages for good prices at Phoenix Software (here)

I'm considering an upgrade to Windows 7 but need to find out if my laptop can handle it first :p
  • I've seen on the Viglen Student Portal that you can now get Microsoft Office 2010 for £34.45. I'm pretty sure this is the cheapest anywhere, by a few quid too. Sorry can't attach a link as I'm a newbie and apparently I'm not allowed to yet! (if someone can respond with it please do!)

    Thanks.
  • Do you work for a company that is part of the Microsoft Home Use Program.
I do and have recently purchased and downloaded ( from Digitalriver ) Microsoft Office Professional Plus 2010 for just £8.95.
    Bargain !
