thanks for the reply. I can see facebook being a good tool..perhaps twitter just to post a few tweets of events she's attending.
The only problem that she's got is when to start...With a baby due 28th May there is no point in starting yet as it'll be difficult to hit the targets to get the £38 starter kit refunded.
I'd definitely recommend her starting when she's going to the groups and has contact with lots of mums, because the free books you get from hitting the incentives are so worth it - I just received my box of books for the first "flying start" target and I'm so pleased!
The other thing I would say is that she can only really start and get the most out of Usborne when she feels as though she can concentrate on building her business, talking to customers and looking after the baby all at once! I know that lots of people do start with little babies ... my own is under a year old ... but I would just say that she has to be ready in herself. xSlowly working towards earning enough money (through various ventures) to live unworriedly, treat my family and sleep under a lovely roof. x0 -
A great many couples do it together. I couldnt do it without my hubby, and he is great at talking to people and getting bookings for me - oh yes and babysitting while I am out having fun at parties!0

If she joined now, she could get to meet people an antenatal groups, and get her stuff into maternity waiting rooms etc.
Just a thought x0 -
Familyreder you only get an upline when you join Usborne, many people asking questions haven't signed up yet.
By asking questions on here, people can make informed decisions about whether Usborne is for them or not.0 -

I'm happy to help her in any way I can. Ordering, sorting the order when it arrives, delivering, marketing etc. She's outgoing and has got the people skills and will be good at selling. I can help generate the business away from the promotion at parties / events though the Internet etc.Lesley_Kenton wrote: »If she joined now, she could get to meet people an antenatal groups, and get her stuff into maternity waiting rooms etc.

She went to her first antenatal class last week. There were only 3 others there - all had children already. I'm not sure that the group will last the full duration. It's a good idea though!0 -
This has been a really useful thread to read through, I am thinking about taking the plunge and signing up but still a little unsure! Do you need to have a lot of sales skills to do well in this?0

Thats a tough question, do you need to be a 'salesman' then no, the products sell themselves - product knowledge will help you but thats something that comes with experience. Do you need to be confident ? then I would say its a definate plus - you need to be able to speak to strangers to a certain extent and it wouldnt suit someone who is really shy !Bow Ties ARE cool "Just because you are offended, doesnt mean you are right" Ricky Gervais0

I would in no way describe myself as a "salesperson" and have no sales skills whatsoever, but I manage to sell thousands of pounds of books each year to schools and the general public. I've always worked in an admin role, so this is something completely different for me, and I've now been doing it for 5.5 years. Loving every minute of it!
Good luck if you decide to take the plunge!0 -

I don't have any sales experience prior to doing Usborne. I find that the most important thing is how you feel about the books - I'm not only a complete book lover, but I remember reading Usborne books when I was a child. I love the books so much that I can't help enthuse about the books when people ask me about them! If you enjoy them, you'll find it easy to get other people excited about them too!Slowly working towards earning enough money (through various ventures) to live unworriedly, treat my family and sleep under a lovely roof. x0 -
That is so true Absolutelynomoney! You will find your favourite books become your best sellers!
I was at an event with my upline a few weeks ago, and she does not like my favourite book, she said she had never sold a copy of it. At that event I sold 3!
If you enthuse people will buy!0
