Seriously everyone, there's no need to give the OP grief.
We all have little things that we secretely enjoy but would sound really stupid if we told others.

We should have a thread on here somewhere that people can just post about stuff like that without the fear of being mocked etc.
So, while on the subject......the floor is open people.Since when has the world of computer software design been about what people want? This is a simple question of evolution. The day is quickly coming when every knee will bow down to a silicon fist, and you will all beg your binary gods for mercy.0 -
I've only got red ones
damn, does that make me poor?

I remember when I used to have a Platinum barclaycard and all my friends were envious. There was no need to be, since if I'd run it up to the limit, I'd barely have been able to afford the minimum monthly payment! I cancelled it long ago, because I didn't want to start paying an exhorbitant annual fee.
Now even chavs can have a Platinum card they have been devalued. I make do with my Tesco Finest credit card and my Capital One cashback cards now instead!
I do still like a nice card and was gutted when Capital One replaced my pink credit card with a pig on with a bland blue boring world card.0 -
I am more of a watcher than a poster but here is my view............
I can honestly say that over the years I have had the lot, from my First Midland bank £250 Autocheque card, to Amex and to Gold, Platinum and Premier cards, and to be honest all when I was up to my ears in Debt !.
Now I have a Green Lloyds Bank Classic account !, I would (And do Qualify for LTSB Private banking as I have well over 500k of investments spread around) and I am always told how much that would benefit me, same story from Natwest I am told how I really must have their private banking with personal relationship manager and how it would benefit me !, indeed every time I go into LTSB I am offered upgrades, but the answer is no for one simple reason and that is all of these accounts and services cost ME, they don't really benefit me they benefit the bank, and at the end of the day its a status symbol and nothing more, yes when I was a bit younger I thought a Gold Card was it and very posh, but no one cares, I have a Classic account with LTSB and I don't feel I am treated any different with a green card or gold card (Other than everytime I pay in I am offered another 'Review' right away), but for me the difference is I have no more money worries (Thank God) and I can call upon plenty of my own money at anytime regardless of the colour of the card, when many of my friends who like to give the impression of wealth by flashing platinum cards about really are living on the edge money wise.
So in short (And sorry for rambling) I don't care personally about the colour of the card just that I have around 500k in the bank. That said the money was from inheritance and I would rather have the person than the money.
You can have a relationship manager and private account with Natwest without cost to you and you could have an Advantage private account with extra benefits at a cost if you wanted.0 -
Who wants a high street relationship manager with their ridiculously large portfolios? It's a ridiculous status symbol with little to no benefit. What would William Shatner do?0
