I will also give my story regarding them.

One day early this year I found my account were no longer there when I logged in. So I use the ticket systems, say they are going to look into it. No reply for a couple of weeks so I ticket them again....again Fiona say they will look into again (tech dept).

Later came back with a reply they couldnt find my account. I got about £100 due so no way am I letting this go. Went back and forth for about 2 months and I told them I will take the neccessary action to recover what is owe to me. So I finally wrote them a letter and threaten legal action and all expenses to be met by them if they dont pay me within 14 days and also state that I was aware they are required to have a back-up system for the accounts. Got an email back from them saying their tech dept are looking into it, well I told them I will take legal action if they dont pay.

A day or so later they said my greasypalm account got deleted due to unused for lengthy period, I told them they have deleted my wepromiseto account. Eventually they re-instated my account and deducted £5 for the next admin fee due as I came to the 2nd year for the account, what a cheek as it drag on for about 3 months, I wouldnt have to pay this had it go on normally. I couldnt be bother chasing this up as I will never use them again.

Whether they attempt to scam me in the first place I cannot be sure as they could have deleted by mistake this acc instead of my greasypalm acc. But they wont get away with it from me especially with £100 due!
  • WPT was my second cashback site I joined after Quidco, having been with them a couple of years I've had around £100 paid which I opted for in amazon codes as it have a slightly larger payout. As everyone else has displayed, this site has really gone down hill in the past year. The daily clicks have pretty much gone, many that were left on WPT stopped working, admins fees, increased min. payouts, the delays in anything ever beinf confirmed and further delays when wiating on a payout or an amazon code.

I've had far too many issues with WPT over the past year, to me it seems as though this site is simply on the way out. I genuinely wouldn't bother with it. I've stopped using it entirely now, sadly my first cashback site I've ever dropped.

I have been waiting for a number of payments (including insurance) for many months. They constantly give excuses about delays, stil waiting to hear back, validated but not paid etc (and are polite to give them some credit!) but I cannot see how it can take so long - if you look at the affiliate networks for some of the retailers that they are advertising, they claim a one month turnaround etc - not over 9 months!! I appreciate that sometimes there are technical hitches, but it does seem that either their technology/staff are unable to cope, or there is a deliberate, systematic delay built in their process for paying people.

I will not be using in future and hope that I will get paid out soon, as this approach is totally unreasonable.

Well seems We promise to, and greasypalm have finally paid to all members on 20th. I received my money and now wish to close my account. Any tips on how to do this would be much appreciated.
  • We Promise To started out brilliantly. I rarely had a problem and the minimum payout was £0.01. Now, as Glider3560 pointed out, they have raised the minimum payout to £25 without any notice to their members. They get out of this by their notice in your account payment selection area by putting, "Sorry, the minimum payout is £25.00" However, in their "Knowledge Base," http://www.wepromiseto.co.uk/help/knowledgebase/when-will-i-receive-my-payment it states payout at the amount I choose. There is no notice of a £25 minimum.

When I queried this, I got a generic reply that payouts were now at £25. No explanation of why members were not notified or exactly when it was changed. This is their reply from Lee.

"Apologies for the inconvenience or upset caused. You will have to reach the minimum payment level before you are eligable for payment. However i will make a note of your feedback regarding this."

I have been trying to get an answer since January why my Alliance & Leicester £20 e-savings account hasn't been verified and paid . The transaction was in the beginning of Dec. 2008. A&L are a "Rapid Response" retailer which basically means nothing. Only they will investigate within 60 days, not resolution during that time.

This month I reached £28 and they conveniently took £5 Admin fee from my account on 31 October. This is after they had taken £5 on the 5th of January 2009. Per their site, they take the FIRST £5 you earn each year. http://www.wepromiseto.co.uk/help/knowledgebase/how-much-does-it-cost-to-be-a-member My first transaction with them was on 1 November 2008. Rather sneaky in my opinion since cashback payments due are calculated on the last day of the month for the payment run. The payment run is the 2nd of November. The way I see it, that shouldn't have been taken until 1 November. Just another attempt to not pay their members what they are owed.

I've put in another enquiry with them and am expecting another generic reply tomorrow. Thank you Reeny for the phone number. They will be getting a ring from me first thing in the morning.

Sorry for the long vent and you deserve a medal if you read my entire post!

  • Disgusted with this company!

I applied for an Legal and General ISA in Febuary which should have generated £85 cashback. This tracked @ £85 for months then it got validated for half the amount £42.50. After several emails and fob offs. They said "This has been passed to the technical department, I will chase them up to get back to you." Of course I have not heard from them in well over a month now!

Gonna send them a final email pointing them to their bad feedback on this forum.

    Wont be using them again.......:naughty:
  • Had I realised they would take £5 a year I wouldn't have touched them. Just when I got near to cashing out at £10 they moved the goalposts to £25. In my opinion if the cashout level is £10 when you join then they should honour that. Avoid like the plague.
    It's 5 o'clock somewhere!
  • Just a quick update from me, after raising numerous tickets with Fiona over the last couple of months, my final transactions from July 09 changed to "Payment Due" in November. These were shown as "Paid" on 1st December, and the £25.03 cleared into my account yesterday. This will definitely be my last dealings with We Promise To, I'm just glad I managed to get all of my money out of them in the end. Best of luck to everyone else in a similar situation!
  • Still waiting for a £75 payment from November 08 from WePromiseTo. They may promise, but chasing it up hasn't seemed to have helped me on this occasion.

STILL waiting for this £75! I was hoping it may become payable after 12 months (it was for a new First Direct 1st Account) but no such luck...

The only thing to say in favour of WPT is that you can get 3% offline cashback from a variety of high street retailers like Superdrug, Halfords, Dorothy Perkins, Little Chef and Cineworld by registering your debit and credit card details with them. I'm not aware of other cashback sites that do this (apart from Greasy Palm, which appears to be run by the same people on a different business model, and with lower cashback rates). These offline transactions do seem to become payable after several months.

If you regularly spend in these stores, this could be a little extra bonus, but I would not recommend using WPT as your main online cashback site.
