Hi,
going to start sending parcels out and have been doing a quick price check for weight of the first box, after going to certain courier websites for a quote:eek:
I went to parcels2 go and got a brilliant price, compared to the price the same company gave me, so i just wanted a bit of reassurance that things go ok?
the parcel weight is just under 10kgs and size is 18 x 12 x 12 inches been quoted £8.50 & vat for tnt, but on the tnt site it was a heck of alot more money???? So how is it alot cheaper going through tnt site?
sorry as i normally send through parcelforce via the post office, and the same parcel is £18.80 not signed forWork to live= not live to work0 -
Because as a customer to TNT, you are only posting 1 packet. Parcel2go as a customer to TNT are posting thousands of packets a day (on behalf of you and others of course). Its simple economies of scale.COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »Hi,

Try ParcelMonkey - you might get it even cheaper.
*edit* £7.49 + vat via CityLink on ParcelMonkey0 -
thank you steve you are a sweeheart:beer:
apart from being cheaper, is parcel monkey better than parcels2go? or are they about the same?
Also I know i should check myself, but at what weight is it cheaper to go through parcel monkey than royal mail?Work to live= not live to work0 -
Brokers work by booking far more collections than you. Bigger customer bigger discounts. At https://www.interparcel.com would be £5.85 + VAT on a 3-5 day service. (parcel size in cm 46 x 31 x 31)COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »Hi,

Most brokers are as goo as each other, however P2G's customer service is notoriously bad.0 -
Collect+ might be cheaper but you have to take your parcel to a Collect+ outlet (might be more beneficial to you) whereas CityLink will collect from you.COOLTRIKERCHICK wrote: »thank you steve you are a sweeheart:beer:

I've always used ParcelMonkey and never had a serious problem. I've never used Parcels2go.
The rule of thumb used to be that Royal Mail were generally cheaper when under 2kgs but I've not compared it that closely since the RM price rises.0 -
Myhermes or Collect+

Myhermes or Collect+
Which one is more reliable?
Since Collect+ cuts out one of the two main potential foul-up areas (collection), they should theoretically be safer. (If the recipient has an outlet near them and wants to pick it up there, you can also avoid delivery snafus).
I've had good experience with both, but maybe I'm just lucky to have a good local parcel delivery/collection guy.
PS If you get an existing user to refer you, you (and they) get 10% off at Collect+, 20% at Hermes.
Not that I'm in any way suggesting you PM me or anything
