I've used Yodel, Hermes etc (without problems) and found they happily ignore that a parcel is bigger than their stated max.
But do they check weights the way the Post Office seem to?
I'm 40grams over one pricepoint, and tempted to risk it.
Anyone tried it and been surcharged?
I don't think couriers have time to measure, the 225cms, longest being 120cms, 2 other sides add up to no more than 225cms etc x 2.
Although some couriers take a tape and scales and refuse if it's above the weight and size.OTB wrote
40g over you should be fine, with myHermes once a courier has accepted it you're fine, the same with Collect+. If the shopkeeper has accepted it it's through, they hold the discretion
40g probably won't be noticed but your wrong about "once a courier has accepted it you're fine".
I've heard of a few couriers having to return to customers because they took an oversized or over weight parcel. They aren't paid for collection or return because it's their mistake.0 -
Hi, I need to send a 72x46x37cm 5.2kg parcel, needs to be insured upto £100 and a 2 day or more delivery time is fine.
i keep thinking I've found a bargain until I have to up the insurance cover or the box is too big, so any help would be great or if there's any codes I can use to reduce costs, thanks. No buying un-necessary toiletries challenge - Start total: 235. Current total: 273!!0 -

Help!
Just in the middle of using Parcel Monkey for the first time - booked a collection from my work today, and it's not been picked up yet.
Digging deeper on the website, it would appear that they can collect up to 8pm! My work will close at 5.30... if they don't come before then, what happens next?
Can't see a contact phone number on their website....0 -

you will have missed the collection.
did you expect them before 5.30? (as in does that company regularly come to your work)0 -

What happens if I've missed the collection?
I don't actually know which courier is coming. Assume ParcelMonkey don't have their own vans?!
Any phone numbers so I can call them?0 -

*edit* you should have printed out a label - what courier is on that?0 -
You would have had a choice. If its UK then either ParcelForce or City Link. Check your email confirmation.

The option I chose was "Parcelmonkey air express". The other (more expensive) option was DHL.
The label just has Parcel monkey on it.0 -
