How about setting yourself a target of ebaying £20 Worth of stuff a month to pay for sponsorship after listings fees?

I too would continue with the sponsering unless I really really felt it had to go.
Great idea from Emmzi to cover the cost in another way

I think that in the scheme of things the money you give to sponser a child is something you could continue with. I have just been made bankrupt and the OR has agreed that I can carry on with my modest charity giving. Take the view that it is not the fault of the child you sponser that you are in the financial mess. How much difference to your debt free date will it make? Go without a couple of bottles of wine or something similar to pay your creditors with.

Well for what it is worth that is my opinion. Well done for joining the site and being a DFW.

thanks for that louise. what i will do is go without some of those beer filled evenings, so that i can pay for it. you're right, it's not this beautiful child's fault that i have no self control

    thanks for your support

i would, but i don't have any extra ebayable stuff in my house. :o (will go have a look immediately)

i already sell my extra books on amazon, so will continue to do that. will also probably use my coin savings to do this as well.

    cracking advice. thanks alot:T

theres no way i would give up sponsorship of a child. Theres plenty of other ways to cut back before this- at the end of the day its the price of 2 taxis a month probably, so no, there are easier & nicer things to give up first!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

I think its a great move to keep him. You cant even get 2 drinks in most bars in london ( from what i can remember lol) for what it costs to give him a better life, youd have to literally financially devastated, which you are not as there are so many opportunities for you to get straight, to give that up, so put it out of your mind. :)

Melabarrie, you might want to simulatiously list the books on https://www.greenmetropolis.com as well
