Afternoon all
It's been an absolutely beautiful day here, sunny and warm in the sun. I walked to work, and there was a chill in the air, but it was lovely. Two of my colleagues drove past me on way to work and offered me a lift but I turned them both down as it's a lovely walk. I'm hoping the weather stays nice so I can walk in for next few weeks at least.
Today I took my new group of teens to a local country park and we played lots of problem solving/getting to know you games. So basically I got paid to have fun in the sunThey have now mostly come out of their shells and are much more talkative, and it's only day 2 of 10week programme!
Picked car up from garage, cost wasn't too bad. Good thing is they have just got a card machine so I could pay on my Tesco CC to get clubcard points!
Nothing much OS planned for tonight. Dinner will be pasta (cooked yesterday) and simple tomato sauce. Then I'm going to curl up on sofa and read.
Have a good evening all

Evening everyone
It has been sunny here today, long may it last.
Went to my ds2 parents evening last night, got told he is starting to become disruptive in class. He has got a statement due to his learning difficulties associated with his adhd and has a teaching assistant for 18 hours a week, but this is now his coping strategy to become the class clown and avoid doing the work, they are dealing with it though.
Took the remainder of my hm soup to work for lunch. I have made some bread rolls in bm, hopefully they will rise a bit more!(my first attempt).
Tried to do a chicken rice dish for tea, but it turned out soggy, thin I may have overcooked the rice. Hope to get my ironing done tonight.
Bitsy - Hope you managed to get a rest and glad you dd is okay.
Molly41 - glad you gotyour carpet sorted. i hope you get your work/retirement situation resolved soon.
Nomoneymummy - Hope everyone is better soon.
grandmasam - hope you get your boiler sorted.
Tiredmum - hope you get the new school sorted soon for your DS.
Aussielass - hope your power has been restored
Janebaby - hope you get the results soon.
nic1lou2 - your holiday brings back memories for me, spent all my childhood holidays at my uncles farm which was next door to Fountains Abbey. His barn is now part of the education centre and you can see the farmhouse from the path as you walk down from the visitor centre. We used to get in for free! Brimham Rocks is great, spent many an hour bilberry picking and climbing. Oh to be young again!
(((Jayne and George)))
Have a nice evening.

Just try and get some rest Missus
Glad you had a good holiday Niclou. Welcome back :hello:
Just had a yummy SC chilli with baked potato but also had room for a doughnut muffin with HM/HG raspberry jam.:DFor those that wanted the recipe it's here. The first time I made them the jam sank so now I bake the bottom half for 5 minutes before adding the jam and topping off.
The girls are still hungryand are polishing off some HM yoghurt and fruit puree. I stuck a vanilla pod in the warming milk this time and it's lovely.
Byeee. x0 -
Topsyturphy - lucky you it is an absolutely beautiful part of Yorkshire, stunning scenery! What a childhood holiday!

Just a quick hello, and hugs, had a cloudier day today so DH & I went through the house, it doesn't take much cleaning, didn't get round to the ironing though. Get together with neighbours to pay "Skip-Bo" a card game this evening.
((hugs)) Cranky, Smoky, Pen-Pin and all others who'd like one.

I'm a bit late this morning- it's Taplady's faultshe mentioned the Coal House at War programme so I was watching it on i player instead of talking about my meal plans on here.
.I hope you enjoyed it!
I have painted the second coat in the bathroom - 1 more to go, cant wait to finish it!
we also went to Worcester and had a nice wander around the shops, got DS2 some shoes with £40 off and myself 2 tops from M&S reduced to £4:T
I also visited Mum and she's had a nice birthday.
I'm now off for a game of scrabble on FB - I'm adicted!Do what you love :happyhear0 -
Just nipped in to send hellos and hugs to Jayne and George.
Have read everything but can't possible quote it all back - so hugs for anyone at all who wants - whether you have had a good or bad day
I made home made rolls tonight which was exciting, so am having bacon eggs and fresh rolls for dinner. I always eat too late.
For those talking about flashforward - i did hear it's 22 episodes long! Havent watched it myself yet but have heard good reports
Made savoury rice for lunch today but as usual forgot to rinse it so a bit starchy. Trying to decide whether to eat it or bin it as some left for tomorrow....
Batch cooking for the cat ( ha ha). Long story but she has been really sick and lost a heap of weight. I started to feed her dry chicken and have made a rod for my own back now. I treated myself to a massive Free range chicken a few weeks ago and over time she has eaten the whole thing bar one portion. We witch! But , i dont mind - it's still come out of my grocery budgetSO i bought iceland 1.1 kilo cook from frozen and have cooked her some while the bread rolls were baking. So i can put the cookd stuff in the freezer
I have a bag of Ys carrots in the fridge I have been meaning to transform into soup for days but just can't get the energy so will maybe do that tomorrow. Not feeling good so have no energy. I am coming to the conclusion I am ruining myself with stress at the minute, and really wish i knew how to drag myself out of it. Anyway, ill not go there.
Channel 4 is not inspiring me tonight, so think I am going to make myself watch a movie, something feelgood.

Edit - going to try scrabble on FB. Taplady, you're for it if i get hooked!A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Hey Thriftlady and RedRuby - good to know I'm not the only one stressing about the C word.
I have an account for Christmas for all present buying and it's totally on target, but I can't relax until the presents are bought and wrapped. But I have a tendency to buy too soon and miss out on opportunities for lovely Christmassy offers. I need to chill don't I? The money is there and plenty of people are panicked at the sheer expense of Christmas not just the organisation and present buying.
I have spreadsheets and everything - so sad.... LOLWendy x0 -
