    Afternoon all.

OS here seems to involve the oven today; we've had our Shepherd Spy lunch; there's a cherry pie being cooked, and bread rolls rising in the airing cupboard.

Have also caught up with the washing (again!! - where does it all come from?) and even washed the bath mat and loo pedestal mat, which were thick with talcum powder. I am carefully ignoring the bits that need doing by hand.;)

Will be dragging Mr LW to the barber later, then on to do battle in Mr T's - then, methinks, a nice restful evening bashing trolls and other baddies in Neverwinter Nights 2 on the PC. Sad, ain't I?:rotfl:

((((HUGS)))) to all who need/want one today.

:hello:redruby - Well done for being so organised with Christmas presents already! :A Teenagers are a problem present-wise, aren't they, our DGS (15yo) is always delighted to receive money, but it's not the same as opening a parcel, is it!
    .

I tend to panic a bit over xmas presents, and get a bit stressed, so like to get it out the way :o, The last few years I have tended to give my dd some money for her birthday (end of November) but I dont like to give money for xmas, I like her to have bits to open. Enjoy your sofa :T

Have had a busy morning, cleaned and hoovered through, finished cleaning the oven, prepared Mac cheese for dinner tomorrow, and 2 for freezer, prepped dinner for tonight, 2 loads on the line, and I have picked, washed, blanched and frozen my carrots :T, i also picked another 28 chillis, and have frozen them.

Going to have a cuppa now, and a browse.

Janie, good news on the results xx

I keep seeing the C word mentioned around the forum today :xmassmile. I'm strating to get panicky  I usually do my cake and pud around Halloween/Bonfire night and the present shopping in November so I know I've got plenty of time but even so.... must make a few lists.

Ive just had breadcrusts for lunch :D Very nice too. I tore up a couple of bread ends and fried in olive oil till crisp, added a couple of chopped tomatoes, then scrambled in a couple of eggs and finished with a sprinkle of grated cheese.

I've also come up with a cunning plan to disguise the fact that we're having yesterday's supper again tonight. I found a sheet of puff pastry in the freezer. I'm going to mix up the squash and lentil pie with the mash topping and make a big pasty. My lot will eat anything if it's in a pasty;)

That takes me back. We had some in the flat above us - the ones who planned to bomb the Ministry of Sound.

    :rotfl:
Actually from what I have seen on US websites they are showing around the same time but seem to be 2 ahead???the 137 sekunden show was already aired before last night as I had read about it online.

To Aussie lass the show flash forward is on Monday night here, was the 3rd one last night we sky+ it to watch tonight
(watched dc martin last night taped from Sunday)
I googled it a week or so ago and it based loosely on a book.Did think about trying to rent from Library just haven't the time.I'm enjoying the program don't want it to go too farfech tho.
I did that and quite fancy the book now to see how different it is. Apparently in the book the flashforwards were 21 years ahead. Obviously those dynamics dont work for tv so hence the change but I would think that that could mean a lot of storyline difference.I mean if you knew things were going to be awful in 21 years time but only go bad at about yr 18 or so then you knew you would have 18 good years . Conversely if you knew life was going to be bad and real hell for the best part of 20 yrs but then you would be blissfully happy or something then you would consider putting up with the suffering knowing it's going to be good.

In the book they also had a lot of people commit suicide but I take it they didnt want to put that in the tv show. Also I cant see how that would work bcos yes life will be awful in time but not yet or it would get better if you waited. But then I havent read it so dont know what was behind the suicides.

Well hopefully DD is asleep, DS is at nursery and I really really wanted to sit and veg with a cuppa and shed loads of biccies.
BUT I have done an hours cleaning downstairs instead :D Am now having a coffee and a nibble as I am hungry.......oh doesn't sound like DD is asleep - damn and blast!
She got on OK at the fracture clinic. Cast is off and Dr had another look at xrays and can't see any breaks etc. She didn't whimper or anything when he examined her wrist but when I put her coat on she whinged like mad  She's still favouring it but has been using it a little. Still seems sore and stiff but that's better than her being in a cast with a broken wrist :D
Will try all your suggestions for wind down time for DS. I do normally let him watch a film but will see if DD will sit with us and relax (doubt it but can try ;))
Right off to look for some savoury snack ideas.......sometimes I don't want bread, toast or a biccie - any ideas or suggestions most welcome :D

Am also loving Flashforward (and finding it a bit creepy). No longer see Lost or the Fringe (which is fab I might add) now we cancelled Sky so Flashforward is my replacement :T

janiebaby - glad your MRI went OK, shame about the increased pain though......

Sorry I keep moaning about how tired I am. I realise I sound like a veeeeeeeeeery broken record. So early in the morning it does occupy my mind somewhat :o

    Hi all,

Overcast and a bit misty here to-day, not very cold but OH still has heating on....he puts it on 'constant' and if I am out and about don't always realise for hours that it is on...have tried to get him to just put it on for an hour if he is cold but might as well be talking to myself....

Dinner to-day will be pork chops with oven chips and corn on the cob....we acquired some cobs from a nearby field and its just nicely ripe so looking forward to that.

Nothing exciting happening here, OH has cleared the greenhouse and put in some seeds for next year....can't convince him that this doesn't work apart from some spinach and scallions so let him at it!

Hugs to all in need or want especially Jayne and George

    Afternoon all

Well we are back from a great 5 day break away in the caravan. We went to Ripley Castle. It was so lovely, did loads of walking, Brimham Rocks, Fountains Abbey, Ripon, Harrogate and Knaresborough - so feel that I must have walked off those cream teas!:rotfl:

Haven't caught up with any of the threads yet so ((((Hugs)))) to anyone in need or want. Did I miss anything???????

Been catching up with the washing since I got home and doing a freezer inventory - DD must have been feeding the five thousand whilst we were away! Odds and ends for tea using up what is in the fridge (omelette for me)

    Have a good evening all

    x

By the way did you all see my team winning the Rugby League Final again - lost my voice that day!!!:T:T:T
