    Morning all,

We've just had a power blackout and the power has been off most of the arv. We had storms but I didn't think they were that bad. Luckily I had leftover quiche so it was just a few veggies & salad to prep with it. Had strawberries & icecream for dessert. Did the house out this morning & made some zucchini pickles. Caught up with the washing and will need to iron tomorrow.

Had another win at Bingo last night. :D Off to shop tomorrow arv & visit the Library. Has a show called Flash Forward been aired on your telly yet? Just watched the 3rd episode last night. It seems pretty good but I hope it doesn't go on forever like Lost did.

Jayne & George - hope all is well.

<hugs> to those that need them. Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

    Morning all!

Bright and sunny here today! Taken dog out for brisk walk as it's still quite nippy. No heating needed yet though, but dd3 slept in her coat last night, dd2 got up and opened the bedroom window wide and she said it was easier to grab her coat than argue! Will remember to check their window when I get home from work tonight!

OS stuff has involved tidying and chucking paper into recycling, how does dd3 generate so much stuff? Have also wiped down the stair and hallway walls and the downstairs doors, only started by wiping some fingerprints at the bottom of the stairs and decided that it showed everything else up!

Need to give kids bathroom a good clean and bung on some more washing and empty machine and hang towels on line. Got some paperwork that needs sorting out as well. In between I'm off to the hosp for the final round of blood tests to confirm all is well, if anyone remembers I had loads of test ages ago and they couldn't find a cause, but everything remedied itself anyway! Will be glad to be signed off properly though. Then off to see OH, somehow I've ended up doing his shopping for him, he says I'm better at bargain hunting than him! Though in return he has got me a large bag of onions and carrots from his delivery peeps and his butcher has promised me some lamb shanks and sausage skins at minimal prices (v minimal to me as oh will pay), so that'll take care of the travelling supper in a couple of weeks and allow me to give sausage making a go - something I've wanted to try out for ages! TBH it's just as easy to pick up extra shampoo and pasta and whatever as the normal amount, also means when I'm there that I know there'll be supplies! Also have a carrier bag full of sweets for OH, tellys were being just thrown away at the hotel and I gave one to my friend for her son, he is autistic and has damaged the last two they've given him as he likes to keep pressing the buttons, so the sweets were a thank you from her. Was really nice to see it go to a good home, the waste of just throwing them out was silly, and also saved my friend pennies as her ds was given it for his birthday.

Lunches today: hm sausage rolls, last lot left in freezer, apple/satsuma/kiwi, cheese chunks, dd3's fairy cakes

Dinner - chicken kiev with mash and cabbage and carrots for kids, spicy stew for me if I get going and throw it in the SC in a bit!

Essex - pumpkin has a lot more flavour than marrow, and looks much prettier too! I like it roasted, actually I like all squashes roasted, sprinkled with a bit of garlic powder, salt and paprika is really nice.

Bitsy - when my ds started nursery I introduced a quiet hour after lunch, involved us all cuddled up on the sofa with a blanket to hand, reading a book or watching a dvd, quite often he'd doze off and so would dd's, and me as well, but if not the peace helped restore my sanity levels if not my energy!

nomoneymum - hope your tum settles soon.

Hugs to all, will sort out SC and then catch up before hosp xx

  • Morning everyone :hello:

2nd day of the holidays and the girls are occupied for half an hour doing a thank you card to their Grandparents who sent them a lovely parcel this morning. When they've finished there we're going to do a load of baking and maybe some crafty stuff. Tea is chilli which is in the SC and enough for 2 days as the girls and I are off to Glasgow tommorrow to get my car fixed and I don't want to cook when I get home from a very long drive.
It's raining here so no washing on the line and don't want it on the pulley when I'm cooking chilli. ;)

Kind thoughts to all those in need and special thoughts to Cranky and George. xxx
Sunflower... Sorry for the delay. It will be with you in a couple of days. :o

Yeah Aussiegirl, I think its being aired everywhere on the same night, so no sneaky peaks online lol.

It was on last night too. I love it, it's my new addiction, not that I need another TV addiction!! :rotfl:

I'd worked that one out :D I bet there will be * spoilers* on the net before long

OS is about to start. The ironing pile, 3 complete sets of bedlinen plus extras, is shouting very loudly

    Hope everyone has good days.

Special thoughts for Jayne and George, Bargainbird and families.
You never get a second chance to make a first impression.
  • Morning OS friends,

Jayne and George, still thinking of you both and sending love and light your way, I am so glad you have great friends supporting you.
Penpin - hope it all went well yesterday.
kazzaw - I freeze most of my excess peppers. I slice them, then in the biggest locknlock I can find I place a layer of peppers. Then I put a peice of kitchen paper and put another layer and so forth. Then once they are frozen I just tip them all loose into an old frozen peppers bag. I do them this way as then they are all in seperate strips rather than one frozen lump. When they defrost they are no good for eating fresh but throw them into anything you are cooking and they are fine
Patentgirl - thank you for the nice comment.
Jackie - thank you so much for sharing your experience. When I went through all this 10 yrs ago we just did what the Dr told us to do.. there weren't really any options.
Bargain - Cannot believe they let the man out again!!
sunflower - Wasn't sure about the spelling but copy pasted from my friends email. Thank you very much for your input, I will send that to her. I think she was drifting towards the third option to avoid chemo, but she hasn't made a decision yet.
VastSarah - woohooo you are close to me *waves* I live south of Exeter
valk-scot - well done with the furniture, what great bargains

I haven't read the thread today yet but will do so and post again. I was so tired last night I knew I couldn't get back up for Tris so I slept through. My in-laws are here this morning so I have been chatting to them. Weather is lovely again - really sunny, so garden work I hope can be on the cards. I also have a large mirror to rub down and then paint in white gloss so it can go in my bathroom. It's only been waiting a year!

Have some bedding to put onto freecycle and want to try out my new curling iron thingys that I bought from Begborrowswap. Not very OS but if they don't suit I can always pass on to someone else.

Lunch will be cold pork that was marked down in Morrisons last night. I could cook with it but just fancy it in sandwiches and means I can offer something more than just cheese to the in-laws. Dinner is yet to be organised but we do have some kippers that need to be eaten up so will probably have those. I love smoked fish! Well, all except smoked salmon, can't bear that stuff.

WM has been on and washing is on the line in the sunshine and I am just about to go empty the bread maker so all is right with the world.
Hope everyone is having a good day. With love, light and ghug.gif for everyone who would like one.

    Diva.x
