    ALWAYS CHECK YOUR CLEAR STONES.

If you have a stone of visible size (i.e. not tiny Argos chips of 'diamond'), make sure that you're absolutely sure it's not a diamond.
If you're not sure, get it checked first.

What should I do with a real diamond ring...? I've got the receipt and diamond certificate or whatever it's called for it, but no longer want to wear it, so what's the best way of selling it...? I'm sure I've seen adverts somewhere about companies that accept precious stones as well as gold, but no idea where, and who would be reliable...? Any ideas anyone?
Would really appreciate a cash boost before Christmas...
I don't think I can hang on til Friday...
  • I sent a packet of scrap gold and some gold sovereigns to Hatton Garden Metals on Saturday and at lunchtime today, Monday, I received a call from them giving me the breakdown of gold, the weight and carat etc (some of the gold I'd thought was 9ct and it was actually 18ct) By the time I got home from work the money. £1146. was actually in my bank account (I used BACS). I was staggered at this amazingly good service and their gold prices are better than my local shop or any of the other postal gold companies. I highly recommend this company

    SOVEREIGNS AND GOLD COINS,
If any of you have gold coins and use fleecebay, sell them there.
You will get the best prices.
    Go check out.

I have only bought off HGM and these people.

They are both names known amongst gold investors. Once again I would say if you don't need the cash, hang on to your scrap. It will never become worthless.

They are a sound outfit, nothing underhand from the 1st timers.
This site also got a thumbs up on the Silver Savers Forum a while back.

If they are offering 180, take it, then go round the corner buy some more at under 170 and keep repeating the process.

I know MSE is famous for helping readers do OK financially, so come on, spill the beans, who is buying at 180.

The only place I have seen anyone offering 180 are dimwits on fleecebay.

Well I did finally get an answer from them and they say that if it has a UK Hallmark, then they will pay the rate for 22 carat, but if it doesn't have a UK Hallmark and has been bought from abroad, then they'll pay the current rate for 20c gold.

Thought I'd post this just in case anyone else has gold to sell that they purchased from abroad.

    Good Morning All

I wonder if someone could explain this to me please:
    • Do you buy gold from outside the UK?
Yes, but this service is only available on application and can be subject to different charges depending on the country of origin

I did write to them and ask this same question, as I have some gold which was bought in the Middle East and I'd like to sell it, it's 22K.

However, they've not replied since last weekend and I wondered if anyone on here might know what the position is?

    Thanks,

    Sal

They are trying it on. 22K is 22K.
If you know any Indian or Asian jewelers in your area go there to sell. Traditional gold jewelry in far east is always 22K.
Again, don't swallow any tish tosh.
