I ordered 1 spinner in red and 1 graphite on Tuesday - the red one has just arrived. It appears identical to the ones in Debenhams 'reduced' to £89 - you can't beat this for a bargain! Thanks for the post!0

Ferretktf,

Good luck !!Now thanks to Tommix & Queen Bear, now Lady Westy of Woodpecker0 -
I don't know exactly when we ran out but I do know that we only ever had 100 in stock and they were only listed by mistake. The problem was that as we listed it by mistake it's stock status on the computer was not set to go sold out when we ran out of stock but to take what we call a held order instead, This is how the main parent catalogue company (shopdirect group) works, if they run out they try and buy more in. We only sell clearance items that the main catalogue parent company no longer need and as such we cannot obtain any more. When this happens we have to cancel these 'held orders'. We are in the process of doing this and e-mailing unlucky people as I write this. The product is still on the website at £56 which is the correct price we would sell it for if it was given to us to sell but you'll notice that the stock status on the computer has been changed to reflect it's sold out position. We will be proceeding as per my earlier posting regarding the confusion over the shoulder bag and removing this from sale as soon as possible.
We are also working hard to ensure that we do not create 'held orders' going forward and that all items have a correct stock status so that when they sell out they show 'sold out'. If you could please bear with us you should know soon if you have been succesful or not.

I have just spoke to somebody @ discount door who said they are out of stock at the moment but i will definately recieve the case before Janaury 26th0

I think I'll bookmark discount2door ;D
Have to admire alex for explaining things to people on here.0 -
I have to admire D2D for the ever increasing size of thier email marketing database
For a moment, I thought they may well be selling them at this price seeing as it was within 'price plummet' - up to 80% off. But I then discover 2 days later, that their system will accept orders on the off chance they are able to supply you.
What a reassuring way to shop! I shall be deleting the bookmark.
Thanks anyway for the post Mrme0 -
I'd have to strike out Boots, Marks & Spencers, Tesco's, WH Smiths, FCUK etc etc if it worked like that.
At least a representative posted on the forum.
Looking at it from the point of view from someone who didn't order anything, I think discount2door are better than most companies I've dealt with recently.
But we're all different and all have differing pointsof view.0 -

Does this mean that orders that are in the process of being delivered will be delivered and that all others will be cancelled as per usual Discount2door practices?0 -
Perhaps those people who actually had a delivery of the Spinner could let us know the time of their first confirming email a pattern might develop - also did they pay by CC or open an account?0

Yes I have had one of the cases I ordered delivered but I would feel the same even if I hadn't. Alex from d2d has explained what has happened said sorry and some people are getting what they ordered, there isn't much more that they can do. Its easy to say they should have a real time stock system but many other websites much bigger than d2d don't have this. d2d have also said that they are working on it so I think I will leave them in my favorites, I hust hope that the graphite cases really will be delivered in a few weeks as that is what a lot of people including me have been told but I am sure they will and if they don't I am sure we will be contacted ;D
Just my opinions:j :j0
