Hi Hob,
Good to get your update, and sorry to hear things have been difficult for you. Just try to keep going, do what you can (but not too much) and rest when you need to. The world won't end cos the flat need hoovering!
Also, go to see the dr if you need to - they are there to help and see many people with similar prolems, so don't feel bad for going.
Well, Charlie our cat came home last week, we were so relieved. I think he must have been chased by a dog or something to get lost, but we are glad that someone brought him back. :T
If there's anything I can do to help with xmas, or anything else, just let me know. I;d still like to send you a bit of stuff for pampering, so pleeeeeease send me your address! :j
Much love,
Ali x
PS let us know how you get on with finding an art clas -it sounds like just your thing, and it will be good to get out of the hosue and see different people too.Not Buying It 20150 -
Hello hob.............sorry to hear you're feeling a bit 'down in the dumps' for want of a better way of putting it. Don't beat yourself up about it though. Everyone feels like that sometimes without all you're doing and have had to put up with. If you think about it you're doing such a lot and not just the physical/mental stuff........a lot of its emotional as well -and on top of that.....christmas. Well, let that be the least of your worries.............it is just another day when all's said and done. We're going to our foster daughters this year so at least there's no food worries.......after these last few months we both need a bit of 'wind down' time.
And so do you .........take it easy as best you can and when you can. As for art classes......I'm sure if you ask around there'll be something going on............if not, set yourself some time when Craigs out and make that your own 'art class'..........see what you can come up with. I used to do that myself when my water colour classes ended then mum was ill, the classes stopped altogether and so did my painting at home........no self discipline thats my trouble. But I must make the effort and if I can so can you. One of my other foster daughters gave me a water colour set and told me I've got to do something with them........she'll be wanting to see that I have so come new year I just might.
Whatever you do, don't give up on yourself........you've had so much on your shoulders and you've done well, better than many would have. Reading through your posts you could print out a lot of them, read through them from time to time, when you feel down, and you'll see just how well you've coped.....................bless you for being the sort of person you are. If only there were more like you x:A
And don't forget, there's a lot of support for you on hereI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

hi guys, i have a conffesion to make i forgot to go to the post office dho. i promise i will do tomoro. i have had the cards ect by the front door all wraped and ready post but i keep walking out and forgeting them. sorry. other stuff decrations are up. i have a oven so i can cook dinner yay or not yay depends on how stressed i am lol. so far i have pork and stuffing i know i need roastys but what else?. do i really need to make a starter? if so what no fish as im slightly terified of them. (very odd fear i know lol) i have fanialy seen craigs socail worker and guess what we are getting a new one , a student one. grrrrr i dont mind a student but HER name is vicky, craig asked for a male one .(has embarrising medical problems) oh well not much i can do about it. i try graham ingores me.
mary-op- water colours are the hardest paint to work with so u must be good. what kinda things do u like to paint? i think that your painting made by her water colours would be a ovely gift.
falady-im glad to hear hes home, duder was a indoor cat but his sister rouge (owned by friend) dose that disapering for days thing i think they like to make us worrie. i have gone to the doctors and was given anty depressions idk how i feel about that but i guess she knows whats best. gonna wait till new year to do a art class maybe craig will finaly be in a day center by then. i have almost given up on that now.and thats really sweet of you again (lol) but you dont need to. i berly have time to have a quick bath most days it would be a waste on me thank you tho thats sweet.
im gonna post pics up on my blog of my christmas decs and some other bits if u want to look its http://threadkind.blogspot.com/ hope your all doing well.0 -
hob - don't get in a panic over christmas dinner........do what you want to do.........if you don't want fish don't have it. Pate and toast is always a good starter if you like that and easy to do. For other veg with your pork you could shove a whole load of stuff in a tin and roast it all.........OH's done it many times.......carrots, parsnips, courgettes -allsorts. Or you can have brussels or cabbage and boil it if you like. It's whatever you fancy really.
Pudding is the same......you don't have to have xmas pud if you fancy something else -we've had viennetta ice cream in the past -nice and light after a hefty meal.
Whatever you do, relax as much as you can............no need to wear yourself out so you're too tired to enjoy it.
Just had a look at your blog..............you really are so talented..............well done :T
Keep persevering for a male social worker.........I know social workers always seem to be thin on the ground but sometimes if you push hard enough you get a result.
I've got a little panic............trivial compared to some I know but I just had a phone call from a lad we fostered........hes 13........and loved helping me concoct christmas stuff when he was here last year. He was moved from us when I was ill earlier this year and he phoned to say he was coming over to see us on Friday...........what on earth can I 'concoct' for him between now and then  I know he'd prefer something I'd done as he got so much fun out of it all last year.
Trouble is, he's seen pots of gold and flannel reindeers otherwise I'd do something like that.
Oh well...............better get my thinking hat on:rolleyes:
Take care.........................xI would be unstoppable if only I could get started !

I think you should relax about Christmas dinner - do things you like that aren't too hard. We never bothered with a starter or dessert. By the time we scoff the stuffings and all the other side dishes there is no room in our tummies! And there are always nice biscuits and sweets to pick at later.Trying to spend less time on MSE so I can get more done ... it's not going great so far!
Sorry if I don't reply to posts - I'm having MAJOR trouble keeping up these days!

Starter - soup - open tin, pour in pan, heat up, sorted. That's what happens in our house anyway.
You beat me to getting the Christmas decs up, I'm still only halfway through. Got the christmas crackers and party poppers though - good old poundland to the rescue again. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Hi hob,
Sounds like your xmas dinner plans are coming together! Ready made yorkshire pudding are good with xmas dinner, and they only take about 4 mins in the oven. The aunt bessies ones are nice, and i think branstons might also do some which are good. I should think most brands would be fine. You can get them fresh or frozen (more choice in frozen), so just choose whatever suits you best.
My hubby would eat yorkshire pudding with everything if you let him!
I'm not bothering with a starter this year - we don't have enough knives and forks to do 2 courses without having to wash up in between when we've got 7 people for dinner! Soup is always nice and eay though, and having 3 courses makes it a bit more special.
Take care,
Ali xNot Buying It 20150
