Well, my £329.99 arrived 30 mins ago, mixed emotions for me

Power supply = 305w :( (lucky I picked up a couple of 500w ones from ebuyer for £13 each)
Motherboard = Proprietry with 2 PCI slots :(
Graphics card = Some generic tat that the manufacturer dosen't want to put their name on. :(

Hard drive = 250GB SATA drive which is 50GB larger than advertised :)
CPU = 3.0GHz+ with a nice big heatsink to keep it cool (hopefully)
Build quality = high, well put together and good use of blue plastic for wiring routes. :)

No doubt i'll have a better feel for it when I fire it up, however like most Dell's the machine is a little limited by the motherboard and PSU. But I reckon it'll still be a decent price overall.

Teehee I keep looking out too. But my toddler son has just said to me, "Don't worry ... It'll be here in a few weeks!" Grrrr!!

Do these come with mouse / keyboard / cables etc?

Obviously not a monitor but just wondering about the rest of the stuff!

SaleHunter the thread that searcher2 directed me to re upgrading the graphics card is well worth a look. People in there have 7900GT's running on the installed power supply. Given that this is a top end graphics card i'm gonna stick with the psu installed. Whirlys link to the power calc is also very useful. Apparently dell say the psu is more like 400w.
    Still awaiting delivery.
By the way the £329 one was meant to be a 3.4ghz, you said 3.ghz+. Was that a typo or is that how it is showing up?
Now to find the cheapest 7900GT!!

Help! Custard80 and SaleHunter you're talking techie!!! For us ludites - what is a 7900GT ( the latest Ford supercar, I thought!) or a 400PSU ( I'm not even going to try on that one) and do I need to change either on my £329 machine if I don't play games?

Georgiac. If you don't want to play games then you won't have to worry about a thing. A 7900GT is an Nvidia Graphics card, a new graphics card for improved gaming and other graphically intensive apps. A 400W psu Is the power supply unit. More components need more power and graphics cards can be power hungry.
So don't worry yourself, just trying to point out to SaleHunter that it's not all bad news!

Salehunter - is yours definitely a 3.0GHz machine? I am still waiting for mine :( but if it isn't a 3.4GHz one I'm going to be giving someone a LOT of stick (there is a massive price difference between a 3.0GHz processor and a 3.4GHz one - a Pentium 4 650 costs about £200 for the processor alone).

" ... Like Searcher2, it says box xxx of 050 with a service contract until Feb 09."

I have just received the dabs pentium 4 at £229 , same order code as SMJ , its a dell dimension 5150 , one dvd drive , no media reader . But I have no paperwork to indicate service contract . On the outside of the cardboard box its says 02 of 20 , but inside , even on the despatch note etc nothing . So does that mean its only covered by the standard return to base dabs one year warranty ?

    Thanks

On the back or top of the PC will be a Dell system code which is unique to your machine. If you go on the Dell website and find the right place you can enter that code and Dell will tell you what warranty it comes with.
