Think people all over the globe would find things a hellavalot easier if you pay only the 1 price,eg flight cost, taxes, card costs etc. Not rocket science is it.
The problem is that not everybody pays card charges.
Not everybody wants to take hold luggage.
Not everybody wants to pay for priority boarding.
So you'd never be able to have a single price that everybody pays.0 -
Where does it say that O'Leary demanded editorial control?
Did you even read the Times article I posted up or DID YOU JUST START WRITiNG IN BOLD:rotfl:
No journalist has to answer to anyone or do as they say. That's how journalism works. That includes running full interviews unedited. If they had done so the whole show would have been O'Leary shouting off and self advertising. Who on Earth would agree to that?according to the Ryanair website:
Oh, that'll be unbiased then won't it?:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
I will watch the program with an open mind. They are way, way more trustworthy than any company, as they have nothing to sell. O'lLeary on the other hand......0 -

They're afraid of O'Leary doing to them what he did to Watchdog. It's pretty simple - no journalist who wants to put across a particular viewpoint would allow complete and fair access to O'Leary (even in a format like Hardtalk - which is one of my favourite programmes for the unedited nature of it, and we get it on BBC World News) because he's incredibly savvy and intelligent.I will watch the program with an open mind. You clearly haven't read the correspondence then - which clearly shows up the BBC to be anything but 'trustworthy' in this case. In fact, from the amount of misleading assumptions made by the journalist in the correspondence, it's Ryanair who look honest.
At the end of the day though - Panaroma have just wasted an immense amount of taxpayers cash (even flying on BMI, when everyone knows that Ryanair would have been cheaper London-Dublin!) on a programme which looks like it's going to be very biased against Ryanair. From Poland...with love.
They are (they're) sitting on the floor.
Their books are lying on the floor.
The books are sitting just there on the floor.0 -

No thanks, Ryanair already make it easy enough for people who can actually read and don't click wildly on buttons. From Poland...with love.

Of course I read the link before replying.
I didn't start writing in bold type - I highlighted the relevant text from both the BBC & Ryanair websites in bold for ease of reference. :rotfl:
Actually, the timesonline link you provided DID quote a 'BBC spokesman' as saying that O'Leary wanted editorial control.
However, I personally thought it more sensible to take what the BBC's own website said.
I'm not saying the Ryanair website is not biased, I was just pointing out that both the BBC and Ryanair were saying the same thing - unlike the timesonline article.
You'll watch the programme with an open mind?
Really?
Your final sentence doesn't sound that way to me. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
O'Leary makes it pretty clear that they didn't want editoral control - in fact, from the sounds of things, O'Leary wanted no editoral whatsoever and instead wanted a man to man discussion, similar to what Hardtalk does.
For that matter, why hasn't the BBC offered to engage O'Leary in such a format? Is it because they realise that he's incredibly shrewd and would easily come out smelling of roses? From Poland...with love.

I thought Panorama was supposed to go after serious issues... haven't they got anything better to do? Or is the BBC sending in the "big guns" after they didn't have much luck with Watchdog?Let's settle this like gentlemen: armed with heavy sticks
On a rotating plate, with spikes like Flash Gordon
And you're Peter Duncan; I gave you fair warning0 -

The big guns with the big airline fares, it looks like.
O'Leary's making considerable capital out of the fact that the BBC used BMI rather than Ryanair - which clearly is a bit of a big boo-boo on the BBC's part. From Poland...with love.

Watched the doorstep interview. He is certainly a master of the media. Think even he actually believes some of the tripe that comes out of his mouth!
"Love Panorama! Great show" and "They call me beloved, sensitive, shy and retiring." Brilliant
I don't like him, but by god he's good value!0 -
Not really sure what Ryanair are making such a fuss about. It wasn't particularly bias, didn't really bend the truth, and was essentially just a half hour analysis of the Ryanair business model!
Didn't tell me anything I didn't know, and pretty much left the viewer to make up its own mind (which would explain the non comitting title
