Thanks hypno and savingholmes, it was a bit drizzly but went out shopping and left the car at home. Amazing how much better you feel for a bit of fresh air!

Went to buy printer ink for mum's printer, so I can borrow it for gift tags. Proper ink was £24.99 for colour £15.99 for black. They had a HP scanner/printer on offer for only £44.97 so sorry to say, I bought it, but it will more than pay for itself if I use it for stuff I can sell. Was shattered when I got home though carting it back!

Well at least that's how I've justified it to myself. Have spent the afternoon playing, also got free good quality paper thrown in so not a bad deal altogether. Have already had a go at cards for nephews 18th. Its a scanner too so it means I don't have to take photos of card designs to keep them.

Roast beef in the oven, so will get a few meals from that. DS wants me to get Christmas tree soon. We always have a real one, because I love the smell and the Christmassy feel it gives. I like to wait until nearer Christmas, and as I'm paying I win.

Today I have a plan, lots to do and got to sort out how to do it.

Bank account not quite as healthy as it should be, due to using card to buy things over the weekend. BUT if manager buys stocking fillers, that money will be replenished so will be fine.

    to do:-
ring round upholsterers about sofa and chaise lounge (or however you spell it!)
Chase up former employer about letter to pension company
Make more pastry for mince pies - requests from friends
    Washing on
Clean suspicious looking marks on carpet - hope its only mud :D
Get carpet cleaner back from BIL
Finish cards that have been started
    Tidy craft stuff away
Go to Furniture Resource Centre - see if I can get a decent cupboard for dining room to hide stuff away in.
Get price for small chest freezer from recycling place.
Send email (again) about Xbox - supposedly fixed and returned over a fortnight ago and no sign of it.
Check out paypal dispute process re: xbox repair as may at least be able to get the £60 back

Moneywise - all DD's have gone out
    £42.50 in purse
£10.75 in bank bag, reserve money
    £57 in Christmas purse
£140 still in Christmas bank account - money from BB to go in tomorrow.

Still waiting on vouchers from ipsos, no idea how long they take as never had enough points before. Have got enough for £5 on lightspeed, but will leave that as my start for next year.

    Hi Gilli
Hope you're feeling better today :)
I've finally been able to read your diary all the way through. I'm glad you had so much success with BB, it really has been a nice little gift for us DFWers.

I'm with you on the Christmas Tree. Everyone at work thinks I'm "Bah Humbag" because I don't put a tree up on the 1st!

I love the sound of your crafty income. In an ideal World I'd love to do that too. I'm sure the New Year will bring positive news over a permenant job - you've had some good advice regarding looking for work already, so just enjoy your time doing nice creative things for now!

    Have a good day x

glad you are feeling better and more organised again..... Amazon can be a source of cheap remanufactured ink cartridges so give that a go perhaps next time... Quidco also offer cashback at pc world so perhaps also consider things like that

Hi thanks for that, couldn't use Amazon as no time to wait for delivery, and was mums printer and she's a bit funny about stuff like that. She never uses the colour as she only prints out letters so won't buy it.
Personally I hate shopping in PCworld as find their staffs attitude appalling unless you are buying an expensive item.

The printer I bought was on sale everywhere else for over a hundred so saved more than I would have got in cashback anyways. It was just missing a USB cable and we have loads of them around the house.

On another note - I got another star!!:j:j

  • Right, need to organise myself. House is full of crafting stuff, need to finish stuff and box it all away.

    So thats the first plan.

Have bough a sideboard/dresser type thing from Furniture resource and its being delivered tomorrow, so need to sort out some space for it. Then all the stuff thats lying round can go in it ready for a proper sort out in the new year.

    2nd thing
Need to clear space for Christmas tree and generally tidy up. Have got food presents still to make but its a bit early.
Probably best now to work backwards from Christmas Day and sort out what needs doing when.

No ideas yet for present for Mum, spoke to sister and brother and they haven't got anything for her yet either. Have got a few bits but no proper present.
Payday today, will know later how much. think this is the weekend I will try to get most of the extra bits and bobs for Christmas, but for the life of me can't remember what they are! So probably no PaDs this weekend unless something happens. Have got extra shifts in pub over next few weeks, mainly funerals so wages will be better, but no tips.

Courier work, really busy but not sure what happening over Christmas, when they need work doing. May find out today when collect wages.

    Ironing still to do.

  • New cupboard thingy arriving today - yippee! And ordered the last of son's stuff on amazon last night. Had a discount code so didn't do through cashback as sometimes it causes problems, apparently. Anyways, its being delivered to Mum's as DVD shaped boxes are a bit obvious, not that he's a kid anymore, but you like to keep a bit of an element of surprise.

He's off for a couple of days now so is going to shift furniture around for me and clear me a space under the stairs for c*ap that I haven't decided what to do with yet. Mum's conscience has got to her and she has arranged for a van to come and take her furniture away. No idea where to, unless she's putting it in her shed :rotfl:She has a little bungalow, hence the furniture living in my house, but its starting to get in my way now.
Made cupcakes yesterday, thinking of them for little presents take to friends over Christmas. Got some really lovely wrappers of t'internet.

    Payday yesterday
    Padded £11.50 left in purse
£130 wages - broken up into
    £20 petrol
    £30 gas and leccy
    £40 groceries
    £40 to Chrismas fund

Still have £60 on prepaid card, so will buy Mum and sisters presents with that. And that's me done!!

So hopefully after the weekend will be able to see the wood for the trees. Also have some money coming from stocking fillers - around £40 I think.

Got some really good ideas on that Kirsty programme, but why was it so near Christmas??
