Glad you had such a nice time Gilli.
Hope a job turns up soon. I think 2010 will be a positive year for many DFW-ers, so fingers crossed for some good luck coming your way :)

Really hope you get that new job soon - and that is one that is good for you! In the meantime try to enjoy the extra free time

Hi, I am a bit wary at the moment, having read of your job on your thread. I know that actually I can take a drop in what I was getting in order to cover the mortgage etc. but would sooner not do it unless I have to. There are a few options in the new year, especially with agencies.

Have just got in from work and am wet and tired, having had a fruitless afternoon, trying to deliver stuff to people who weren't in. And if I don't deliver I don't get paid.

Ouch to the not being paid bit! I think it is right to be wary - at the same time no matter how bad this job is it does still help keep a roof over our heads and has made xmas less scary - as in we could pay for key things we wanted to....

Think I need to book some time off at feb half term to keep things bearable tho!

  • One of the main things for me is that obviously there is only my income to pay everything although DS does contribute I can't expect him to pay my debts, so a drop in income would mean the debts didn't get paid at all.

Maybe what I really need for the new year is a new OH!

  • Will post my plan of action tomorrow, but have just had a lovely surprise. Delivery of case of assorted wine from a friend in Bristol! Some of it is really good stuff, one of the bottles I know for a fact costs around £18  It had obviously been held up by the weather as friend was upset his gift had not arrived in time for Christmas. Can't contact him to thank as he is now on holiday.
Have taken curry out of freezer for DS tea - he can have that with lots of chips to soak up any alcohol! Glad freezer is now organised, can find things in it at last. amazing the stuff I've put in there! Bits of meat eg. roast beef that were left over. Not enough to make anything out of, but too much to throw, so put in freezer until there's enough to do something with. Odd bags with a few roast spuds, etc. Need to be more organised.

If anyone bothers reading this, Happy New Year.

Happy New Year Gill - enjoy the wine but not all at once LOL!

I wouldn't be too quick to rely on an OH for money - you will find a way through
