Getting out of my comfort zone

Morning,
very up and down weekend, various reasons, but am very very tired. Had planned on going to Cambridge to stay with brother, but that ended up not happening.
I've also cleared myself a space and have bought some cheap (plastic yukk!) beads and metal findings to practice my jewellery making skills as want to do some twisted wire things and not waste my silver findings.
I have spent an absolute fortune in the last week or two, so need to get a rein on that, I know where some of its gone and will help sort out birthdays, Christmas etc. for quite a while. But quite a bit has just *gone* - probably on lunches with friends.
New spending diary starts today!
Money in purse £42.71
Money in bank £403.60
DD's to go out £150
Need to get - petrol - probably just put a tenner worth in.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Sorry to hear things didn't go too well. It also sounds like you're determined to move on and grasp the nettle - good luck with it.2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Sorry things were a bit mixed but at least Button won the grand prix
Do you have a start date for the new job?
DTxx0 -
Button winning was one of the high points of weekend. If he only could win in dry conditions too!
No start date yet, but it is only a week since offered job and its a big corporate organisation so the wheels grind slowly.
My brother commented that I didn't seem excited or pleased about the job, but once the initial euphoria had died down its a bit of limbo land.
So my Ikea blinds are now drying out on the line, off to do battle with some ironing, and then I'm going to play with crafting stuff!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

You know when you sign up for survey sites and wonder why you bothered? Was like that with a couple so have cut the list as I rarely qualified for any.
Kept the registration for Indiefield because they don't fill your inbox. Completed a qualifier last week and have just had a phone call from them.
Earned myself £5 for a five minute phone interview! Apparently they send a cheque!Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Yesterday was a NSD.
I also washed some windows and put my IKEA blinds back up. The bathroom ones are looking a bit battered now, as they have gone yellow from the sun, so got my sewing machine out and used them as a template to make new blinds. The kitchen and bathroom are the same size fortunately.
Today am going to Mum's as she has physiotherapist coming, and the senior district nurse, so want to make sure she's telling them the truth. She has a tendency to make light of things, which is fine for friends etc. but she should tell the medical bods what is really happening.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Are all mothers annoying?
While waiting for various people to turn up, I thought I'd do lunch. Mum hasn't been too well for a few days so hasn't been eating properly. Opened the fridge and it was a bit of a horror story of out of date stuff. Told her it all needed chucking out.
Then she yelled at me! What had I done? Thrown out a bag of prawns that I'd taken out of the freezer for her on Thursday.
Her problem? I'd thrown the clothes peg (that was keeping the bag shut) away too :rotfl:
No mention of the £4.99 prawns, no, she was bothered about a bl00min' clothes peg! And if she thought I was going back in the bin to fish it out......Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Omigod :eek::eek::eek:
I'm really surprised that more older people don't get food poisoning - my mum mixes up the length of time to leave food out of the fridge and out of the freezer - and she *did* get food poisoning one time. Hasn't learned tho.
Hope you can have a nice evening tho.2023: the year I get to buy a car0
