Getting out of my comfort zone

Thanks all
I've had a lovely lazy day, but at one point it wasn't too certain:(
Sister picked Mum up and brought her to my house. Mum decided to use the loo. Now for those of you who know terraced houses, the stairs are VERY steep, and Mum normally lives in a bungalow. Anyway she got to the top and we could hear a concerned tone in the voice of DS, followed by "where's the puffer?" It took her 20 minutes to recover her breath enough to come back down the stairs, and coming down took her 10 minutes. At one point DS threatened to pick her up and carry her :rotfl:After that she was fine, but it was scary.
Went to M&S cafe - I now its a bizarre choice, but Mum wanted to buy me some new shoes for my new job, and the cafe was just there. Had a lovely salad, followed by :bdaycake:
After taking Mum home, have done absolutely nothing, except glance at the book DS bought me - about Hicks and Gillett - the Americans who bought Liverpool FC in 2007 and brought the club to near financial ruin.
Weightwatchers has been kicked into touch as we're having Chinese for tea, which has become a bit of a tradition on my birthday.

Morning
Chinese was yummy, but we always over order! Mainly because there's only 2 of us, and we like variety. I can't normally eat a portion on my own, let alone having ribs etc. as well. Extra stuff is now in fridge.
Car is in for MOT today. Once its done, they can give me a valuation for buying the car, or I can extend the option for another 6 months.
I'm going to time taking the car, so that I can get the bus back when the market is open, then walk home from there. Otherwise its a really long walk. You wouldn't think I lived in a city, public transport is so bad between some parts.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Crosswise travel is terrible in cities, isn't it! I'm glad your birthday was so good in the end - and of course you over-ordered on the Chinese, isn't that the point
Please tell me you're going to eat it again today!

Left over chinese is definitely on the agenda. Soup and prawn crackers for lunch!
Tonights tea sorted.
And I walked all the way back from MOT place. Decided to go to Asda, bought some bread, cut through the cemetery and then picked up the bargainous bag of salad from the market. I'll go back later for a proper wander around.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

The big cemetery on Sefton Road is quite something .... I had a serious post there, and decided to delete it - hopefully the cemetery is a bit of a wildlife haven, so that might have been quite a nice little wander. I've decided I don't want my garden to be quite such a wildlife haven as it is (too many slugs, snails and spiders!) tho having a neighbour's kitten bounce around with me was *very* nice
hope you have a nice day today too.

 Hi KC
I quite like wandering round cemeteries, they're generally quiet and there's always something different that you spot; yesterday there was a grave that looked really old, but the most recent entry was 2003, so maybe its just the type of stone. The nearest cemetery to me, is often used as a short cut from Asda, as it cuts around half a mile off the walk, but it does seem odd to see people wandering around with carrier bags full of food!
I've worked it out that I walked about 4 miles. This was quite a walk for me, and my legs were killing me!
Beautiful blue sky today, little white wispy clouds.
I've been out to the delivery office, to pick up a parcel. Lots of little sachets of sauces! We don't eat enough of some sauce and end up throwing jars away. I am not generally bothered by best before dates, but once something has been opened I'm quite wary. So I found a website aimed at campers where you can get sachets like in cafe's. I know you can 'acquire' these, but some, like mint sauce and Heinz salad cream, you don't get very often, so have bought some for the store cupboard.
My yard has lots of slugs, and although neighbours cats do get in, I don't particularly like the smell of cat that remains! I've tried to encourage birds, but there aren't that many around.
Just as a side thing, DS made me a card (out of my stash!) and used a stamp of a bunch of flowers on the outside, and then a packet of poppy seeds on the inside. I was quite impressed with the idea, but he confessed that he'd seen a card like that in a shop but knew I'd shout if I knew he'd spent £2.99 :eek:on a card.Debts at LBM - Mortgages £128497 - non mortgage £27497 Debt now £[STRIKE]114150[/STRIKE][STRIKE]109032[/STRIKE] 64300 (mortgage) Credit cards left 0

Wow what a lovely thing to do I would be a bit teary if I got something like that. my son one Christmas transferred the baby videos onto DVD and made covers for the DVDs as well it was the best present ever because I knew he had thought about what I would really like and put effort into it and it didn't cost him much either.
Lovely day here too and another grand prix to enjoy so looking good.
Have a great day

Thats so sweet of your DS! Tho I had to chuckle at him doing it out of your own stash - of course, he doesn't have a stash of his own
I wish I had an Asda in walking distance - tho I agree, it would feel funny to go through a cemetery with my shopping bags!2023: the year I get to buy a car0
