I sort of got the vibe that it was a bit of a formality, but was so made up when the offer was made there and then. I've since had an email confirmation, so all good.

    Thanks folks.

I've given them the reference information, and done the polite thing and informed the people in advance, so have also preempted the issue of people being on holiday and have provided alternatives. Don't know when I'm starting, but will assume a couple of weeks.

That may also be the point at which I start a new diary, as it will be the start of a new chapter in my life.
I've just read back my first post, and so much has changed, mainly through the support of the wonderful people on here.

You have done really well I have just re read some of your earlier posts and I am so impressed with all the part time jobs and crafting you did when things were tough quite an inspiration and now you are getting the payback for all that effort :A

If you are eagle eyed you will see I have changed my sig a bit - inspired by you :)

    Morning all

Yesterday was such a weird day for me. When I got back from interview I was on such a high, I just couldn't settle. I was also really tired as hadn't slept too well, but every time I sat down to have a rest I jumped straight back up again. I suppose it was just adrenalin, so hopefully burned a few calories off too. I was awake at silly o'clock this morning too, so have put washing out on the line, another load in machine.

Today I am going to chill. Will potter and maybe some gardening, but not whizzing round like a mad thing. I've got to wait in for a delivery anyway - parts of the NHS have this as Mum's address, and so her new zimmer is being delivered to here. I'll take that up when it arrives, and maybe go to costco.

Car is in for MOT on Friday - have to decide what to do with it, as the lease is up soon. It does depend on the new job; they will be sending me all the stuff about car allowances etc. once the contract is sorted. I can extend the lease by six months (I think) which does give a bit of breathing room. I'll be sad to see the little fuzz bomb go, as its fun to drive.
I bought myself a pair of fit-flop type things at the weekend, they are really comfy for general walking about, and are less scruffy than my trainers, so will do some walking while I have the chance.
I also need to find another Zumba class! Realistically I need to find a weekend one, as my weeks won't be as structured as they have been.

Money stuff is all up the wall because of the secured loan going out last week, but there is money going in this week and next week and only £45 worth of DD's to go out.
Main problem now will be that I've got used to weekly pay, so it will be a long time until I get paid. I'm going to try to ring HMRC today too, as I need to sort out tax situation from 2009 -2010 as it got a bit confused with lots of different jobs, and some were PAYE.

    Off for another cuppa.

Your new job sounds like it has lots of travel in it - are hotels looming on the horizon? A kindle might be useful there, tho mind you, you're a craft-person too ... its sounding good!

Might the leasing company be willing to sell you the car, OH once bought his company car off the leasing company at the end of it's lease.
