Getting out of my comfort zone

Well I've been at Mum's and her new chair has arrived. It looks like it may help her a lot. She also has an adjustable stool for the kitchen and another for the bathroom. We had put stools there, but they were normal commercially available ones.So she's looking forward to having a bath later.

They are also going to put blocks under her chair so its a better height for her.

Off to the chippy now.

Reading some diaries, we seem to have had the best of the weather today. It was raining at Silverstone for the qualifying for the Grand Prix, and glorious sunshine here.
The weather though has distracted me a bit from what I should be doing, preparing my presentation for Tuesday.
I kept going out and pottering outside, have re-arranged some pots, and found some whitewash so that DS can do the yard next week.

Feeling a bit guilty at the moment.
Son is still doing the odd gig, so that's keeping him in money at the moment. One of the big issues is he needs dental work doing, and has done for years. This really affects his confidence, and he rarely smiles, but its really difficult to find an NHS dentist around here. He never got a full set of adult teeth and the front two grew through with tiny holes in them, and then got chipped playing football. And what's worse is that its mainly my fault; my complete phobia of dentists meant that I relied on Mum and Dad to take him to he dentist, and so should have paid more attention.

Oh Gill! I've no solution to offer you, just hugs - you did the best you could at the time, I'm sure. I know how incapable I am around my phobias, even my ex-phobias, its horrible.

Really as a parent, we should be able to get above these things. I don't think he blames me as such, it's just another of those things that don't get mentioned.
I am fortunate that I have managed to stumble through the last 30 odd years and only been to the dentist twice! Maybe I'm just too cynical about the charging elements of the NHS too.
Today, again, I should be preparing my presentation for the interview, but I'm even doing ironing as a displacement activity. if it was a real presentation to real customers, I'd just get on 'with it, there's something about an interview that makes me keep putting it off.
I've sketched it out, I know the sort of things I want to cover, but keep putting off actually finishing it. It has to be done by noon tomorrow so I can email it to them, as I haven't got Office on this laptop. I'm also pondering not doing it as a powerpoint presentation, but just as a talk, with handouts, as that may come over more naturally.

That was also in my mind too! So am having a cuppa and then will do some more work on it.

The deed is done, its all sort of mapped out, and I think I know the order I'm going to say things in. I'm not going to do it as a proper powerpoint, but will just have some pictures to add context. That feels easier to me, and I don't want to put myself under unnecessary pressure. It's bad enough being interviewed anyway, so want to make it easier for myself.

Off to finish packing for Shropshire, this is my last week there, it seems to have flown by.

Wow, this is a big week for you - a proper interview like that, with a presentation, and the last week at Shropshire.... hope it goes well - oh, and that you have time to go to zumba too.

I will try and get to zumba tonight, because otherwise I will just obsess over the timing of the presentation etc.
Shouldn't spend much money today, but will take a big hit on fuel tomorrow; I will however be able to claim most of it back.
I've kept my clothes separate, hanging them up in the car, rather than in my bag where they'll get crushed; remembered to pack my hair straighteners too.
I may have time to update later, not sure yet.
